Had a close call lastnight..
 
Well last weekend i went home for the weekend to help my parents clean up our property from tropical storm Fay, so many trees down well i was heading back to orlando last night it was about 9:30pm and it just got raining so the roads where slick, well some idiot in a mustang gt was coming off a on ramp getting on 95 South. look like he tried to drift the corner, lost control was heading towards a wall then cut the wheel and end up doing 360s across 95 in front me and i was heading right in his direction. i was in the far left lane, i locked up the brakes slid across 95 and into a field... im so luck i didn't slam into this guy. and i didn't have a single dent on my car, im just wondering what the idiot was thinking..

mustang gt + wet roads = easy on the GAS!!

Yeah is it me or does the new edge just completely suck in rain, sleet, snow, or even sprinkles?

Damn near any rear wheel drive car will blow ass in the rain. I think a lot of people that drive rear wheel drive cars do not realize what can happen if they aren't careful in bad weather. I know what powerful cars can do in the rain. I totaled my '05 GTO when I broke traction in the rear, slid across a road, and ran through a fence and broke a telephone pole in half. I got lucky because the goat held up like a tank, but it taught me a valuable lesson; it's better to be a turtle than a rabbit in some instances. ;).

When I'm driving in the rain, I go at least 5 under the speed limit. If someone doesn't like it, they can go around. I'm not going through what I went through again and I don't want anyone else to, either.

My car is great in the rain, even on drag radials. I don't know WTF is wrong with you all.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with any of us. Both of my Mustangs are squirrely in the rain. Could be your tires, or you may just know how to handle it better, or there could be other factors that play into that.

Yes, I liked it a lot. I had one annoying problem with the GTO. After turning the car off, closing the doors, and turning on the alarm, the radio and interior lights would still say on. I would go out and check 15 minutes later and they'd still be on. I spent at least 20 minutes outside (while I was at work and should have been at my desk) trying to figure out what the hell was going on. I finally figured out that my ignition cylinder was loose and the rubber piece around the ignition wasn't moving back into the position it should have been in when the car was off, so it was keeping all of my accessories on. My CD player would also fail to eject my discs and I'd often have to push the eject button at least 6 times before it would recognize there was a CD inside. Other than that, it was a blast. I'd rather have my Mustangs, though. I guess I am just meant to drive them.

front engine, short wheelbase, plenty of tq and rear drive combine to become killers for us. And it goes for just about any muscle car. Some have better traction control and active stability control than stangs but in general cars like ours are twitchy when it's slick out. That's just life. You must learn to respect how powerful the tool under your right foot is and use it, like you would a gun, when it's appropriate and safe.

Consider that people making 220rwhp complain about the snap oversteer and there are guys making 400-800hp that don't complain... probably the latter group usually understand what the right pedal is for.

Well no in comparison to the s197 gt I drove on the highway in rain there was a huge difference, day and night.
