Funny story
 

So a few days ago I posted that I was having electrical issues and that I thought it was the alternator. Long story short it was.

So I'm driving home from work and I was planning at stoppong at auto zone to get the alternator and the battery checked (time 8:15pm)

Slowly the gauges and my clock are getting dim I'm going oh crap I hope I make it I roll into auto zone (8:20)

I walk inside and ask if the guy can do a test for me an he wheels his little contraption outside. I pop the hood and he tests the battery. I said "I already know thats dying cause it was going out on the way here." he say's "ok, can you start the car and keep her at 2000rpm" I say "ok" *insert key turn ticktickticktick* "oh muther Fer" (8:25)

So he jumps the car so we can test the alt. and I put it up to 2000 and then the gauges die but the engine keeps on going and the gauges come back and die a few more times. He say "yep it's your alternator" it was cranking out a massive..... 7 of it 130 amps so I buy a new alternator which they had onlt one of in the store (lucky me) and I'm going to change it right there and borrow their tool. Well since I have UDP I need an impact wrench to swap the alternator pulleys so I ask if I can use theirs....... "Oh we don't have one" I said "What? that is something all autozones are supposed to have." He goes "yup were supposed to." (8:30)

I call my buddy Nick and tell him my issue. he heads over and we take out the old Alt and head to my house to use the impact wrench. We swap pulleys and head back to the auto zone parking lot (9:45)

Auto zone is closed so I can't get my core charge back till today.
We put in the new alt. The car has just enough juice to crank her over so I don't need a jump good as new (9:50)

So that was my night.

.......and they all lived happily ever after

Its a pisser being broke down at night at closing time, but Im glad it all worked out for ya.

wow auto zone people helped you, the ones at my auto zone cant find the way in to the place there so dumb most of the time they don't know what your talking about.

That story was not so much funny... as it was.... a waste of my time to read.HAHA jk man. Glad you got it fixed though.

Yeah halfway through writing it I realized that it wasn't really funny but I didn't feel like changing the title to "slightly boring story of my night"

you had to be there and I forgot to mention the part where it started pouring rain and there was thunder and lightening too

the storm started at about 9:00 for anyone who is actually interested by my random ass story

Was a good thunderstorm...that's for sure.

Yeah it was...... But the middle of a big ass thunderstorm is not a fun place to change an alternator

Man do I have a pocket full of stories just like that.
