Mach 460 is an option, so by the sounds of it, you dont have it.

Those are not good for the front as tweeters are directional and need to be mounted towards the drivers ear not leg like you are going to have it.

The mach 460/1000 dont have "tweeters"
its kind of like a BOSE setup. It has 2in drivers which handle the High mids on up.

Kind of a crappy setup honestly, you just cannot get a 2 in driver to put out high end like you can with a small tweeter.

As far as stock systems go it is pretty good, as far as stereo systems in general goes, they arent really anything to scream about.

Mine came with the mach 1000. If i was ordering a stang, i'd probably just get the very very base system and put in my own custom sound system that would kick the crap out of it. But for now it is good enough.

In fact, the only thing the Mach systems really do right is to use outboard amps instead of those crappy little cheesy amps built in the head unit.

That is so true it is freaky.

I read a paper published online by this guy who bought a used Blowse Acraptimass 15, he sat there with a spectrum analyzer and other various test tools, and concluded BOSE accroustimass systems only cover roughly 60% of the audible range.
They are also made with very cheap materials.

The only remarkable thing about BOSE is thier marketing strategy and how they have convinced most people that thier systems are not only worth more than a steaming loaf of dog crap, but actually worth spending thousands of dollars. That itself is absolutly brillitant. Good luck finding a BOSE demo setup that is anywhere near the competition so you can do a/b comparisons.

Cant say much about thier 201/701/901 series, but i know they dont use tweeters, the same crappy 2 inch drivers.

I worked at Circuit City for 7 years and can't say I ever heard any bose setup that was impressive by any means. Nor did I hear any sales people ever say anything good about them other than good spiffs. The idea of using two 4 1/2 drivers in a ported enclosure for the lows is a joke to me. Seperate component speakers are essential to getting quality sound. You need at least 3 drivers(preferably 4)from 20khz to 20hz to not over work one paticular driver and distort the sound. Some audio people will remember the Bose 901s from years back. (9) 3 1/2 dual cone drivers in each speaker cabinet. Explain to me how they can produce a 10khz tone and 50hz tone at the same time accurately. Aint happening.

mach 460 that ford offers MURDERS the bose system that GM offers. Well all except the bose system that the cadillac XLR has... That setup is NICE. Then again thats a 75,000 dollar car, it better have a nice audio setup.

As far as I know 6x9s won't fit without cutting. You need 5x7s. Or a component set with some 5 1/4s you could make a mounting plate for to put in 5x7 hole. 400 watts rms on some 6x9s, I question that.

This is a really bad pic since its my mobile phone plus its dark. I will eventually cut a hole to put it in or make one out of glass. What you do is use double sided tape 3m to just stick it on if you dont want to cut into your trim piece. Make sure you prep area good with alcohol and remove all traces of dirt and oil if not it will not hold. I mounted a 5 1/4 component on the door

How big are the speakers in the back of a mustang? And how big are the door speakers? Are they the same size? I'm thinkin about gettin good speakers and setting them up on vocal so i can hear the lyrics over the bass, because im putting in 2 12inch audiobahns.
