What kind of wax does everyone here use?

I'm using Liquid Glass with the Liquid Glass Pre-Cleaner right now and I'm, happy with it. Just curious what everyone here is using, expecially ones with Black cars.

My stang is black. I used the 3 step Maguires. I have been using NXT as the third product.

i have been using NXT by Meguirs and I absolutely love it......great shine on a black car and you get the best mirror finish.

IceMan 09-14-2004 10:59 PM

Black Stang here, meguires is the way to go.

I've been using Zaino and have been happy with it, but I have been hearing good things about NXT, so I may go get some to try out soon.

MainstreamStang 09-15-2004 12:54 PM

I've wanted to try NXT but I heard it only lasts for about 2-3 weeks. Any have trouble?

WaterDR 09-15-2004 01:03 PM

That has been my experience. All depends on how much your drive and the weather. Seems like anything that shines really well, never lasts as long as something that does not seem to shine as well.

I have also used P215. Expensive, but awesome and NOT very durable.

what would u suggest for a white car?

WaterDR 09-15-2004 06:00 PM

Black Paint!!!!!!!!

WaterDR 09-15-2004 06:02 PM

OK, joke's over. White is very easy to make look good and very difficult to look excellent. Am I making any sense? The paint is simply NOT as deep as other colors with pigments. As a result, I think I would use as much carnuba as possible and prevent oxidation as much as possible.

This is true, My last car was white and as long as the car was clean it looked good, but it never looked great. Plus side of white, I wasn't touching up and fixing scratches every weekend. You see everything on a black car and it drives me nuts.

I use NXT. But my ride is Zinc Yellow. Also noticed that it depends on how much you drive the car and how much it is in the elements.

spike_africa 09-16-2004 06:43 PM

I used the 3 step Maguires. its the best if you ask me i do it every 3-4 months my cars and trucks have always look good thanks to it.

csilkman 09-17-2004 09:46 AM

I use Mother's but I may switch. To be honest, my 89's paint is in rough shape. I could use candle wax and it would look nice.

xcler8 09-17-2004 10:32 AM

I have always used Meguiars 3 step in the past but have also heard the NXT is awesome...

tlh03122001 10-07-2004 05:15 AM

a lot of people seem to like meguires, me too. i finally bought myself a buffer and i have a white 99 gt so when i'm done i'll post a pic and y'all can tell me what you think. i try to use only meguires for everything or mothers if i can't find meguires.

I use NXT myself. I waxed the car this past weekend and it looks awesome. I also have a black car, and a clean black car is to die for.

madmatt 10-07-2004 05:28 AM

Yea I use the NXT on my black car and it does make it look amazing. Any tips on how to use this stuff the best way possible, like what to apply it with and what to take it off with?

I use the pad that came with the NXT myself to apply it. Once it dries to a haze, I use a microfiber towel to buff it out with. The microfiber towel leaves no scatch marks and is really soft. You can even use it to dry your car as well. I apply in a side to side pattern, not in tight circles.
