Default i get a phone call from my boss today...

i only answered because i heard there was a mission recovery prep going on so i thought i would be going somewhere fun for a week or 2. well it wasnt...i was already scheduled to work this weekend to drive the flightline. im the supervisor on shift, crazy thing for me to say, anyways i have 3 other people working for me. my boss called to tell me that my weekend project on top of my other responsibilities is to replace a diesel engine on a generator. i said get the fuck out of here with that. he didnt laugh and said the old motor needs to go to supply by monday afternoon. this isnt like taking a car motor out i have to take apart this whole fucking generator pull the motor out and than disconnect the generator when its on the ground.

hopefully my worker bees will be excited about this tomorrow morning because im not. im not excited about it because i just replaced an engine on one of these last week. the only thing wrong with the motor on this one is the blower shaft is worn out and i could of swapped blowers from the last engine i replaced but my pro super (E-7) said no, order a new engine and here i am doing it again

this motor that im throwing in this peice of crap costs 23,390.00 dollars believe that shit. i could of fixed it with other parts from the last motor...this shit pissed me off.

heres a pic i found so you see what im working on. the whole top of the unit has to be taken off. the wires holy shit is there a lot of them that have to be marked.

oh well its the nature of the beast and its what i get paid to do. the weekends are supposed to be chill at work not work your ass off.

you should see the shop i work. totally not equipped to handle a job like this. the over head hoist is a joke only moves back and forth no left or right movement. at least i will have 2 other people helping me.

im putting in a package to cross train. i should have news of a new job between october and december this year. i want a flying job but i may get into a INTEL job as well. if that doesnt happen than im going to need to find a real job as a civilian. this maintenance job im in now has lost its fun so i need to find something else.

step 2: sell new motor for $23,000
step 3: buy something cool with your 20 grand.
