Law Enforcement Officers on this board

Alright, this is something I've always wanted to know...for those of you that are LEOs you can keep silent if you wish, I'm not demanding anything.

But surely as you know, this forum, like many other forums, most of the members are posting about illegal shit (sometimes with picture/video evidence) constantly. Now, I know cops aren't just robots who are out to get everyone and act as "the man's goons", but what do you guys think about the kind of stuff that goes on on places like MB?

I mean, you're all car people obviously..you're on a Mustang forum and chances are you drive a Mustang, but when you mod them do you know what you're doing is breaking the law, and you're an enforcer of the law..do you just say 'hell with it everyone else does it and it's fun' or what? And if you saw..say another stang with blackout taillight tint and below legal limit window tint or loud ass SLP mufflers etc etc, would you pull him over, even though chances are you like that look, and want that on your own car (if you don't already have some of those things installed on your own car)? lol.

There are just so many things that we can do to our cars that break the law.. I assume you guys just see this stuff and take it with a grain of salt, since I guess you know it's not really a big deal....or you don't really care...eh?

Say..would you ever do a donut or burnout in a public parking lot? That's reckless driving, right?

And FYI: I have no problems with police officers like some do, I'm never one to say "damn pigs," or any childish shit like that, I respect you for what you do, even if it does cost us sometimes.

i'm not a ticket writing cop but i can be descriped as a law enforcer and we swim in the same pool so i'll jump in....thats part of the reason i would never name my agency...cause i believe in being honest on a forum...and i dont represent my agency by my personal habits...i streetrace...i will do a donut and have done a donut in the middle of a street just for the hell of it...racing was my thing before i started my job and i imagine it will be after i retire...i like to have fun...i dont think i'm a jerk even to those i bring in cause i've met some of the bad guys at the mall and they just say hi...even the ones i've smashed...but as for the racin thing...believe me its the least of my bad habits...and i'm not changin a thing for some job...the same wild streak that has me doin 140 on a highway late at night also makes me the first guy through every door my team kicks in...so my boss isnt tryin to change me at all....

Dude, i dont know what the laws out in Pensicola are, but in most states as long as you leave the cats on, use dot approvied tires and lights, dont use any distracting lights, and dont mess with the safety systems you can do most anything else you want.

Cops are people too, they take things by a case by case basis and make judgements depending on the circumstances on how to handle a situation. Nobody lives 100% within the law,. not even cops, the cops know this, so do we.

Theres a video floating around on the Internet that talks about what to do and not do when approached by a cop and I think its stupid how the guy tells you how the cop will try to trick you to have you at his mercy and you should know your rights and basically be an asshole to the cop and be able to get away with it. A cop could ask to search my car even and I'd be proud to say go ahead, I have nothing bad in my car and I don't want to get off on a bad start with a cop.

I've known several cops and all of them were great guys, only one I've meet was a real hard ass.
