My wife and I looked into going their for our honeymoon, but it was CRAZY expensive.

That is the center of international business, and its not ONLY oil money. In fact, only 6% of their money comes from oil. Yes, LOTS of people are filthy rich from oil over there, but Dubai isnt the cause of it all ;)
