Bridge Collapse Victim

Remember the Minn. I-35W bridge collapse?

Well, apparently there has been a fund that has been created for victims and now some of the victims are bitching because they can't get money.

One such victim who lost his car, contacted a local paper to plead his case. He is a recent college grad who lost his new pick-up truck....it got flattened. He only had the minimal insurance coverage, so his company won't replace his truck.

Funny part is that after writing the story, many readers have written the paper to tell him to "F-Off" as he should have had the proper insurance.

Just goes to show you, that if you buy a car you should either afford to be able to loose it, or have the right level of insurance, or don't cry about it.

Remind me to call my insurance agent and ask him if bridge flattening is covered in my policy LOL.

I'd want some money from the government considering THEIR BRIDGE FLATTENED MY TRUCK.

It was insured, its up to the state to take care of road issues ect. People pay their money in taxes for things like road construction..

I'd be a little pissed wanting some sort of money..

Wonder if those people put themselves in his position, probably not, they don't think about anyone but themselves..

Welp....that is a good point. BUT, you need insurance to cover things like this. Floods, tornados, etc.... you still need insurance.

In the case of the bridge, if neglegence is ever proven, then the state will have to pay, but that will never happen.

While the guy lost his truck, he did get to keep his life and I think that is why people got aggrevated with him for complaining.

Id be pissed too, but at the same time, thats what the insurance is for. And yea, Id be going after the gov. too. Id be thrilled to be alive, but if my truck was my only way of getting to school/work, Id be 100% screwed if it got demolished because a bridge failed. Natural disaster, I can understand, gov. cant do anything about that, but if THEIR bridge was designed incorrectly, why do I suffer?
