estimates please...

i have ALOT of parts bought and ready to install when i get home. Just wondering what everyone thinks i will do at the wheels...here is the list:

vt Stage 2 N/A cams w/upgraded springs
MAC long tube headers
bbk H-pipe w/high flow cats
3800 stall converter(wont add hp but good for track)
75mm throttle body
K&N intake
also a tune with race fuel for the track

im guessing about 280-290 at the wheels with the "track tune"

I think you're about right. I'd say 270-275 rwhp with a conservative street tune. With a higher octane race tune you'll be in the 280-290 range.

madmatt 10-11-2007 04:51 AM

Id say 285 would be a nice round number for ya :)

stanger00 10-11-2007 07:06 AM

hes gonna be on cali crap octane. so between 270-280 for ya.

you should aslo get a valve body for your auto or do the j-mod to firm up your shifts.

madmatt 10-11-2007 07:12 AM

Didnt realize it was an auto, going to be a bit lower than my estimate, but wgaf, its going to fly with that new converter :D

well i have a shift kit and a trans cooler to get the firmness of shifts. There are some parts i didnt list, but i just listed mostly the hp gaining parts. With the shift kit i have, plus the trans being tuned with the stall converter, and the trans cooler i should be doing pretty good.

i finally dyno tuned mine with these current mods...

CAI
Accufab Plenum + 70mm TB
Steeda U/D Pullies
MAC Longtubes
MAC O/R ProChamber
SLP Catback
4.10's
3800 stall

254rwhp/280rwtq

That gives me a good insight to what i will have. Only thing i have extra is the cams.

someone's gotta be a negative-nancy so I'll bid 253/290. Goo ruck

cail gas is good. we dont have gas below 87 like some states (not bashing)
and all the way up to 120 we also have e85(110)

r3dn3ck 10-13-2007 06:08 PM

hate to burst your bubble cheddar but California ARB approved gas is crap by law. The blend has to be approved by a committee of people without education in the subjects that would make them expert enough to make good decisions, they're lobbied by enviro-nazi's to the point that a power-efficient fuel is out of the question.

You can't get 93 octane here, the 87 is so full of low quality oxygenates that it reduces power and the specific oxygenates used are toxic beyond belief. You can't get E85 anywhere that's useful to the bulk of the population and only really 76 stations carry the high test race gas.

there's no way it will be that low, im putting the VT stage 2 N/A cams in...

White04GT 10-14-2007 12:51 AM

With accufab 75mm tb/plenum, bbk cai, bassani mid-length headers, bassani o/r x, and slp power flow catback I was making 254rwhp/296rwtq through an auto before I got the procharger:smokin:

that's the sort of overconfidence that leads to disappointment. hope for the best, plan for the worst and you'll be prepared for what comes.

you must have a tune too or your car must be a freak. minus the headers...I have similar shit as you, but I have an xcal...and no auto trans...I pulled..245/288...and was told by my tuner...Modular Powerhouse...that those were very good #'s for my mods.

yep, i myself wasnt expecting the numbers i got, i was thinking 230 maybe 240....well i did arrive with 241rwhp/270rwtq but my tuner got a little more ponies outta of it....the car feels hella strong now.

well that e85 shit is good equals 110 octane.
we may not have 93
but down here we have 105 109 110 120 like 9 bucks a gallon for some but we have it.
