Medical Update
 

Well went to the leg/hip doctor, and the arm doctor for follow ups to my injuries.

According to the leg doctor, the crack in my hip will not require surgery, but it is about 9" long from the right side of my leg extending to the inside part of my right leg. the bone didn't completely separate so this is a good thing. I have to be off of it for 3 more weeks, then they will gradually starting allow me to bear weight on it. He said I should have no permanent damage, or lingering side effects, or disability. After the 3 weeks, I have to go through 6 weeks of physical therapy, so looking like around the 10th of December, I will be back up and walking, running, bending, etc with no problems.

As for the arm, I am going to lose some of the functionability of my right arm. I won't be able to completely extend it out in front of me like I can my left arm. I can bring my hand up to my shoulder just fine, but I can't straighten out my arm completely...closest we've gotten so far is about 30 degrees. Doc thinks I'll probably get somewhere close to 15 degrees, but probably no further. As for rehab, I have anywhere from 2 to 3 more months of that, before I am released from care.

So looking like the 1st of the year, that I will be all healed up, and able to return to work, and life. I will be allowed to start driving my car in 3 more weeks...haven't been able to because it's a stick shift, then have to wait 2 weeks for my arm, and then 1 extra week for my leg, then I can drive! yeah baby!

So looks like I'm gonna get back on my toes without too much permanent damage, unless something else is turned up between now and then, but I'm pretty optimistic.

Its a long road dude, but you will make it through just fine.

I know its very frustrating to be laid up, I recall when I had my c4/5/6 replaced in the neck years ago. Man it would hurt just to laugh, since all the muscles in that area is where they went through to my back neck and did all the work, but I had recovered pretty quick.
