What do you think? I'm thinking it'd be really cool to do a GTG around Bakersfield say end of october or november. California/nevada/arizona members should all find it easy enough to make it a day trip or at worst an easy overnight trip.

Go out do a little show and shine, take some pics, have some laughs, maybe take a drag session at palmdale.

LMK... we'll never get everyone but if we can get 4-5 guys to commit then it'd be really nice to meet you folks that I haven't yet.

Bakersfield would be great. Its where I live. I could talk to some of the MOB guys and see if they'd like to come out..would add around 10 or so mustangs, a z06 and a lightning or two.

sounds great. I'd be happy to see any kind of american muscle show up. Vettes, vipers, chargers, lightnings, hell even f-bodies. Like the man said, the more the merrier. My primary personal interest is meeting my California based MB homies but I'm always open to meeting new people that share our love of fast cars and good times.

GTG= get together. A simple informal meeting to chat, swap lies, char some animal flesh and be gearheads around gearheads.

Welp, out here in Bako the spot to meet is Saturday Nights at around 10pm.

All we've got in the little group are...

2-3 SN95 Cobras

3-4 00-04 SVT Cobras, including one Mystichrome pushing over 500rwhp.

1 Nitrous Injected Mach1

Me, the little v6.

1-2 Corvettes, one nitrous injected.

2 Ford Lightnings, One having a Kenne Belle blower on it.

And the GTs, one that just had a Vortech blower put on it, few more with some extra goodies.

The spot we meet at though has much more muscle, and we do get ricers around, but they are fun to laugh at.

The guys around here don't get on the comp much, but we welcome all gear heads, we're not a stuck up bunch, we'll talk to anyone, sit and bs, whatever.

And we'd love to see atleast a few new faces for a change.

hmm...if the meet was at the beginning of the year i would DEFINITELY be able to go. Make one for the beginning of the year, give others plenty of time to plan too. This would be my first GTG and ill have my car finished by then too...getting cam and new stall put in, plus hood, wing, rear bumper. I would LOVE to go and show off my car. It would definately be an overnight thing for me, but if its a week or so into the new year then count me and my wife in!!! We LOVE mustangs, hell, fast cars in general. Red are you going to "take control" of this?

can this be a sticky until the GTG is actually over with? That way everyone can see it the next few months and plan for it. I will definately show up with(or without lol) the wife. She will go, we love driving the stang and meeting with a bunch of other muscle cars would be great. but anyway, would it be possible to make this a sticky just temporarily?

most likely the second weekend...that way people are back from new years and whatnot. The second weekend would be good! I'll be there and hopefully have the car completely finished...but ill be there either way.

can we concrete this for the second weekend in january? Im gonna get a few guys from base to go with their mustangs too if i can. There are a few cobras and plenty of gt's on base. me and codiddy are going for sure.

red have you ever been to the palmdale dragstrip? Or anybody? Actually i just read that they shut it down...which sucks because i go to that track! I heard there is one in bakersfield.

all details are up in the air. If you like the idea, then I'm down. It will be in the middle of winter which makes any actual track time into a gamble at best.

Yes there is a track in bakersfield, Famoso Raceway, only times that I know of to run are friday nights.

And if you're pushing nitrous, it'd better be a safe setup otherwise they won't let you run.

Mid winter in bakersfield its normally like 40 something degrees, don't get much rain, fog won't set in normally until 1 a.m.

If you've never driven the valley fog, well, it'll be a new experience for ya. ;x

well im going to the gtg whenever it is, but im hoping we can make it to the drag strip. It will be the first time i run the car with the new cams and torque converter.
