real life sci fi
as i sit in the house listening to thunder i'm forced to get deep into the net...and lookee what i found....a lake disappeared...anyone know how this coulda happened?
its like an x-file...how does the water vanish so quick that the ice that used to float on it is still sitting unmelted at the bottom? http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science....ap/index.html |
sounds to me the aquifer reclaimed some water. my guess would be a sinkhole, or something similar. i'd bet it opened up and sucked the water down.

sinkhole? thats just as interestin....then there could be a cave that hollow and deep that it could swallow an entire lake....hmmmmm i wonder who or what would live down there...of course...isnt 75% of the earth covered in water and 80% of that water unexplored...could be lots of stuff in the deep blue sea

haha, ya'll are freakin' hilarious some times..anywho...when ya think about it, it's a wonder that we don't have more sinkholes then we do now. look at a big city, ex tampa, orlando, etc. all the ppl in those cities, drinking water, watering lawns, showering, shitting, etc. only a very small amt. actually gets back into the aquifer in those areas, leaving the water table in these places down, drinking water comes from the ground, in underground "caverns" i suppose you could call them. when there's little water in them, there's nothing to support the weight of the building, road, etc, that is above it, get a lil rain to loosin' up the soil, and boom, down it goes. ok, times up, ur all educated on sinkholes!

Ur mother was a sinkhole last night!
