alright ^, does anyone have any pics of it installed properly with side views?
|
just make it how you want it...its never going to be flush with the whole bumper...pick the way you want it.:closed:

Yeah like these guys said it's only going to be flush on the sides and maybe around 6 inches as it curves around the front of the car and then in the middle it's supposed to be setback about an inch or so. Start with each fender and work your way up to the front.
|
mine is probably recessed about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the front. Even with the sides. That's what the instructions said ( I think). But, It's a piece of pretty thin plastic so you can make it go where you want, but I tried to stay with the form it was when I got it. once you get the sides lined up it will naturally be recessed from the front.. I went from there..

wow..whos hunk-o-junk is taht?? ^^^^:kekekegay:
jk...i had a love affair with your gt |
I tore mine up cause I lowered my car too much...:(

I started by connecting it at the dead smack in the center of the front then to the points closest to the wheels and then set in place with blue masking tape so the thing is as flush as possible without unnatural bendin and mark and drill as needed. I never thought the little push tabs were worth a damn so I used fine thread screw/washer/nut sets on ever other hole.
It'll never be 100% perfect but if you take your time it'll come out nice. |
You're supposed to line it up flush with the wheel wells and it's supposed to be recessed in the front. If you look at a late Boss or Mach 1, their "chins" were recessed too. Ford designed the modern ones to be recessed ON PURPOSE.
What I recommend is to line the sides up with the wheel well and use masking tape to hold it in place. Go to the front and make sure it isn't leaning to one side or the other. Then drill the hole for the first pushpin at each end of the chin (the one right at the wheel well). Attach those and make sure the ends are still flush. Then go to the front and do one dead center. Then work your way towards the back, alternating sides each time you drill. |

Yeah those cheap o push pins suck. I was shorted one and broke 3 pushing them on and I was being gentle with them. I layed my spoiler on the hot driveway and it straightened out nice.
