Trading in..hmmm

If you had a 2002 Mustang GT..with Basic-Bolt ons..with 59,000 miles..still in GREAT condition...would u trade it in for a 2003 Mach1 with only 11,000 miles..and is Completly Stock.

My current GT is Paid off in full...and the mach1 is $21,000

heres a link to the dealer...

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...t=25&cardist=0

yall think i should trade it in...or just keep it ..and keep modding it ?

oooo thanks!!!!! I totally agree..lol I just needed someone else to say it for me on here.lol My Girlfriend said the same thing u just said.
Its just the point that my car is getting up there in mileage with 59,000...Besides the mileage..my car and engine still looks new..as I upkeep the well outa it.

They also have a couple 03-04 cobras...a Mustang SALEEN,,, and a ROUSH superchared GT...but they like $31,000

PureStang 05-16-2007 04:57 PM

get the mach if you can afford it and wont regret. take what you can off of the gt and put it on the mach and save a lil cash. like if you can take your rims, shift (if you have one) midpipe and catback radio etc, do it lol

razorjr07 05-16-2007 04:58 PM

yeah keep your car. unless you wanna trade your car for a 1996 Dodge Ram. lol

jjtgiants 05-16-2007 05:00 PM

That's a nice mach. I love the striping, I've been thinking about doing that to mine.

11,000 miles is damn good and it looks like it was well taken care of. I'm sure people on this board will say 21k is too much, but I don't really think so. I paid $23k for mine and it had like 30,000 miles on it...but that's inflated cali prices. You might be able to talk them down a little bit.

How much can you get for your car on a trade in?

I don't know all the mods you have on your car, but stock for stock performance wise isn't even close. I had an 03GT vert with basic bolt ons and my mach would run circles around that car. You'll get better brakes, better suspension that is set up for drag racing, better interior, different rims, black spoiler, chin spoiler, and of course the shaker!!!! Oh and you'll have one of 16,xxx's machs made and 1 of 1,7xx black mach's in the US.

It's a tough call man....especially with the 2008 bullitt coming and the re-design of the stangs in 2009.

I say buy it, Mach's are awesome cars, talk them down though.

PColav6 05-16-2007 05:13 PM

Mach.

jjtgiants 05-16-2007 05:29 PM

this might help....a N/A full bolt on mach going 11.3....I think there might be some weight reduction, but who knows.

Mach with an x pipe, JLT intake, Nitto DR's, and short shifter....stock rear and no suspension mods....doing a 12.4 1/4 mile.

do what purestang said. Transfer what you can, part out the rest, sell your gt to a private party (dealers don't pay jack on trade-ins), buy the mach, mod the mach, be faster than everyone else. (except swervo)

i'm with the buy it crowd! mach's are sweet! but, like previously stated, with new new line ups coming out it's a tough choice.

right now i'm stuck between wanting to drop cash on my car or wait until the new ones come out and see what happens.

NoKturnaL 05-16-2007 09:46 PM

ok so..does anyone know what the new 09 body style is gonna be? or is it gonna be the same as 05-07? cause IMO..i would NEVER buy the new mustang body syle..unless of coarse its the Shelby GT500. i just dont like the new look of the mustangs.

well..if i can get that mach1 down to $19,000..and have them give me atleast $11,000 for my GT..then I will def get the mach1..that will leave me with about $8000 on the loan with the car only having 11,000 miles on it...and faster than my GT as is. 300+ Horsepower STOCK..seems fun...

The new style is allll speculation.. I've heard everything from Fastback retro to the Italian nut-job camaro look-alike.

I would think it should be more like the Retro Fastback design. I hope..

Yeah, figured there was probably some major stuff done to it...probably lots of weight reduction also.

So when are you heading to the dealership to do the deal?

I would keep it...

Get the Mach because you really like the looks. If you are happy with your current stang build the engine add a power adder .

I love my stang...I was just thinking that having a MACH1 with only 11,000 miles on it with only $8000 to pay on the loan after trading in my car would be a great idea....but then again..I dont really wanna have more car payments..as i just paid my gt off....

Imma just keep my GT and live car payment free for a while.

Shambles 05-18-2007 02:33 AM

Or sell your car private party and cut down on the amount you have to pay. Its a big difference (about 2-3k depending on age of car) from selling PP and trading in to a dealership.

Remember, dealerships are there to make money, so they're going to give you "top dollar" trade in price i.e. the lowest price they can satisfy you with so that they can turn around and sell the car for profit.
