Ok so I was gonna be one of these dorks that goes up to Wal-Mart or Best Buy and was willing to hang out for half the day to get one. I was going to leave after lunch today and figured that would be plenty of time. WRONG! I got off work last night and rode by Best Buy and people were already camped out at 8pm Wednesday. They aren't selling them until 8am Friday. 36 FREAKIN HOURS! No thanks! A friend of mine works there and said they were "maybe" going to get in 26 of them and there must have been 40 people waiting a day and 1/2 before they sell them. They come out at midnight tonight at Wal-Mart so I had to go in there last night and people had been waiting in there since NOON! One Wal-Mart told me they were only getting 2 and that there were 20 people in line. Another one said they were getting 10 and they had 15-20 people in line. I had NO IDEA people were willing to wait this long for something. JEEZ! :ohsnap: :godamnit:

yeah some people are just crazy. Im planning on waiting a couple of years for the price to drop or atleast get a nice used one for a lower price.

that's crazy man.....I looked on ebay and people are selling their pre-order receipt for like $2g's and more!

bestbuy isnt aloud to tell anyone how many ps3 they are getting. plus dont buy it now, the one we have set up on display at our best buy keeps crashing. wait for them to fix that, then buy it. id b so pissed if i camped out that far in advance and didnt get one. people were at the north olmsted best buy in ohio at 8 a.m. yesterday morning. theres like twenty tents set up. i was wearin my michigan hoody and walked by and a guy tried making fun of me. i turned around and made fun of him pretty bad for him being a complete loser camping out three days ahead of time. he ended up apologizing haha

you're right.. best buy employees aren't suppose to be talking about how many they are getting. But if you look in the weekly ad, stores are getting a minimum of 26, whereas most wal-marts and circuit city's are getting like 3-5 (from what I've heard.)

our store (which is a small store) also had several people show up Wednesday at 5PM. I think it's funny because the people waiting in line made a list of who was first, second, so on and so on. They asked us if they waited in their cars to keep warm, would it hold their spot. We told them no, they had to stand in line because that would be the same as reserving and we don't do reservations.

PS3 is not worth it.. Even G4TV said to wait, because it wasn't worth the $$ and because they don't have enough titles..

wow... I was thinking about going to best buy tonight @ like 1-2 AM and chillin over night...

I was gonna buy it and sell the son r bitch for a thousand bucks...

I'll probably buy it for myself in a year or 2... wait til there are more then 9 games for it and the price goes down

That's what I'm going to do....I'm fine playing my PS2 and PSP for now.

I think this is all a bit rediculous.

The Xbox was "Oh so far more powerful" than the PS2 on paper.
Then you play both of em and the xbox had like a very slight edge over the PS3 in gameplay and capability.

I think it is gonna be the same with the PS3 and the Xbox360.

My babys mama (lol) bought me that game "Gears of War" on 360 and i played a little this morning, all i can say is HOLY CRAP the graphics and gameplay are freakin awesome.

I saw **** whats on the paper and hardware specs, its what actually happens while you play that makes the difference, and i think that difference will be small.

then again, computer folk have a way of paying more attention to the hardware specs than the fact that they can hardly tell the ****in difference between the 2 machines when they play.

believe it or not people have been camping out infront of the Bestbuy near my work some frigen monday morning its ridiculous they got tents and like thermos mugs and crap lol

With the success of scalpers and the Xbox, i bet a lot of those people are planning on scalping the PS3 on ebay.

joke is on them though, if they camp out for 36 hours, and sell it and make 500 bucks, all they got was a measley 13.8 bucks an hour.

i'll wait till its out for about a year and the price is down...i bought my xbox 360 when it first came out and it had all kinds of problems...so i took it back and got a new one recently...works perfectly now..haah

Well, a buddy of mine has a bag of pepperspray balls used for paintball guns. He throws 2-3 in each time he loads the bladder. He calls those the "Stingers"

On Ebay I've seen some getting sold for 10 grand. Buy it for 6 hundred and sell for 10 thousand, not bad.

Wow, not to hijack the thread but I didn't know so many other people on here worked at Best Buy! We had people show up at about 8PM Wednesday night, but in our county it's illegal to loiter in front of a store more than 24 hours before a "big" release, so we told them they had to stay in the parking lot.

today i walked out after work and politely told the customers our shipment fell off the truck when we were lifting it down, and there are only two ps2's that arent damaged, and we expect another shipment in two weeks. talk about ppl freaking out. then i immediatly told them i was jk. its gunna b revenge of the nerds next time i walk in for work. our store has 28 systems and we got about 40 ppl waiting. how pissed is then 12 people gunna b when they waited for three days for absolutly nothing

These people crack me up. I would nto wait in line for anything unless I was starving or needed medicine.

i sat in line at target for 6 hours with 2 guys in front of me. i got confirmation that for some damn reason, they got 2. im mad. lol

Just wait a few months. If anyone here gets a ps3 best thing you could do is sell it on ebay make money then buy another later on. What I dont understand how people pay alot of money for something that is mass produced but currently on short supply.

I honestly don't get why manufactures do that... have having thing on limited supp...

They could send of huges loads and jack the price up and make a big buck...

maybe they find humor in all this too...

honestly, most of the people who are waiting in line, are doing it to make 2 grand on ebay and get one next time around for FREE. I had a 1500 dollar cash offer when i was waiting in line for the ps3. i told him no thanks. lol

I don't know about the PS3, but before 360 came out they had workers go on strike. That is why it took so long to get more in stock.

Sony needs all the attention they can get for this console, because they know it's going to bomb. Im guessing there won't be another Playstation within the next 5-6 years, most likely will never be another one again..

mine on ebay has sold for $2,102 thats why i pre ordered one. in a few months i will get one for free and still have alot of money left. Mostly going to use it for christmas presents.

I dunno..standing in line like that to me is ..insane.. I guess I can remotely understand why some people are willing to do it..to sell it on ebay to some kids rich parents who are willing to pay 5 grand or something.. but.. i wouldn't stand in line for something that will be out 24/7 in a few months, and will have less bugs..

I really don't plan on buying a video game console for a while.. too much money to spend in my opinion, not when it could be going into my car..or an apartment lol.

Like I said, people are waiting in line to make 2 grand, and get one for free. If you had to stand around for 2 days and just shoot the shit and make 1500 bucks and get a free ps3 out of it, you wouldnt do it? i know about 95% of everyone is selling their ps3 on ebay or locally.
