How much is a 4.6 liter engine?

also How much is a paint job for a 2002 mustang GT. What sound system is the best in it?

03gtmustang 11-10-2006 11:04 AM

Are you talking about the whole long block? New or used?

Prices for paint jobs will vary.

As for the sound system, depends on personal preferance. What are you looking for?

CreekBalla52 11-10-2006 11:09 AM

Twat did you say?.

whitethunder46 11-10-2006 11:41 AM

Well, why do you want a 4.6? Do you already have a 4.6 and want new? IMO there are better choices if you just want a new engine, which is basically a long block, lol.

do you have a V6 now?

smg32208 11-10-2006 12:20 PM

you could get the infiniti kappa series. those sound real good. the alpine R series sounds pretty good too. if you have the mach 460 have fun doing all your speakers

CreekBalla52 11-10-2006 02:01 PM

well

i already have a 4.6 but just looking for a price for another one in the future.

look into JEGS and Modular Powerhouse..

They have crate engines that can fit.

it really depends on how much power yer lookin at and how much yer willing to spend. Jegs has a 5.0l engine that boasts 345hp at the crank (all motor)and those can be snached for about 3,500. you will need to do some mods to get it to fit though, but im sure it can.

ive been thinkin that if i end up getting rid of my stang and get an old 5.0 i'd definatly order one of these babys and put it in.

You plan on blowing yours up? Or have you already done so? Sorry i'm just bewildered with the concept of getting another motor before you need one.

And Jack that motor you showed it can fit. But it wouldnt be a easy swap you'll need several things for it to work

It'll fit fine if i have to get rid of this 04 mustang and buy an 1989 5.0 :breakdancesmilie:

whitethunder46 11-10-2006 02:29 PM

If you supply a little more info, we all could help you out.

Why do you want a new engine? Better Power? Your's blown up? Want new engine because it's new and no miles?

What are you trying to do in the future? Because if you just want more power out of a 4.6, look into just rebuilding yours and porting your heads, and new cams, etc. etc. There's a ton of options.

It will be more work than its worth....your better off getting a built 4.6L...That motor jack showed you wouldnt work without a ton of work done to your 02 it was made more for a fox.

i dunno.... i wouldnt worry about a new engine right now, these 4.6l's are pretty good and reliable, unless you plan on shooting 150shot if nitrous or going with 12lb boost or higher i dont know if you really need to worry about replacing the engine....

what do you plan to do with the car anyways?

ChrisGT 11-10-2006 04:44 PM

areliableautoparts.com

you can get a used 4.6 out of an explorer for around 600ish. basically the same engine you just have to swap a few parts off you engine and you lose weight because your stock engine has a cast iron block and the explorer uses an aluminum block. You'll find out about all this stuff very soon when you start researching how to make your car faster.

SnTBakosFinest 11-10-2006 06:10 PM

... there isn't much of a reason to swap your engine unless its blown or something..

And a 4.6 can make alot of power.. if you're willing to pay 3500 for a new engine..just save up a little more cash and strap a procharger or supercharger on yours and do a little more work...

You haven't given us very much work with on helping you..

And if you are going to drop a 5.0 engine in.. expect to pay some more cash..

With all the cash spent that stock 5.0 probably won't stand up against a modded 4.6..

As for system.. I know kicker sells door speakers for like.. 50 - 100 bucks for two..

Deck.. pioneer, alpine, sony

Subs.. jvc, kicker, fosgate, MTX, audio bahn, theres more.

Amps: PT, Eclipse, JVC, Sony, ect.

And the paint job..prices very..do you want something good? Or do you want something lousy? A lousy paint job can run you like..500-800 bucks..A good paint job can reach the thousands..
