Default 1st Annual BMC Charity Cruise

Ok, it is now Official we are going to have our first annual Charity Cruise for the BMC. And, I wanted to post this here to see if anyone would be interested in joining in on this cruise?

Details:

When: December 2, 2006
Where: From Buford GA to Pigeon Forge TN
Time: Leave Mall of Georgia parking lot at 9:30 am (at the latest, this will give us an estimated arrival time of 2:30pm.)
Charitable Orginization: Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation

RULES:

Any type of vehicle can enter. However, since this is a BMC organized event all Black Mustangs will lead the convoy from Atlanta. Other makes/colors will follow.

There is a $10 registration fee. But this fee 100% goes to the charity we will support.

Donations (There are 2 ways to make donations.)

1. You can donate a flat amount to the Cruise.

2. You can sponsor/be sponsored for the drive. The distance is 169 miles and you can donate on a "per mile" basis. (donate $.05 per mile * 169 miles = $8.45 donation).

If you would like to sponsor a specific car let the driver know and we will have some shoe polish or something to write on the window of whom is sponsoring that car.

To par your registration or make a donation make checks payable to:

Black Mustang Club
P.O. Box 211692
Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411

We will also be setting up a paypal address for donations as well. Check back for details on that address.

I will attach a registration form to this post for those of you who would like to print them out to get support from your community.

The Deadline for Pre-Registration is November 25th. Due to holiday USPS rush, we would like to make sure all checks are received before the start date. If you would like register the day of the event that is ok. Just let me or Chris or Lisa know.

As of now, I have emails sent out to QT, BP, Shell, Modular Powerhouse, Mustangs unlimited, Summit Racing, YearOne, Steeda, Roush, SAleen, Chik-Fil-A, American Muscle (formerly known as mustang tuning), and NASCAR Speedpark.

I am hoping for not only monatary donations but for Parts, Shirts, Gift Certificates, etc. from these companies. What I plan on having is a raffle at the ending point ($1 a ticket) for the items I can get donated from these companies.

I hope to hear back from NASCAR Speedpark so that we can use their place as a end point for our cruise. That way we can have a "show" in the parking lot, and get some good ole grudge go-cart racing in at the same time (they have a mini-bristol track with cars that go 40+ mph). Stay tuned for updates on this as well.

If anyone here owns a business or knows someone who would like to make a donation please let them know about this thread. I would really like to have a nice big turnout for this. It's a great cause and will be lots of fun at the same time.

I will continue to update this thread as soon as I find out more details.

NOte:

The reason I have decided to go with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, is due to the fact that my grandfather died from this on March 1, 2004. He is the reason today that I feel for cars the way I do. I grew up in his back yard watching him work on cars and he taught me everything I know about how to work on them. I will never forget everything he taught me, he was a hero to me not just a grandfather. SO, for me personally I will dedicate my ride to him.

To learn more about the disease and what they are doing to try to find a cure check here:
http://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/home.htm

I have attached a Donation form and a Registration form. Let me know if you are interested in being a part of this.

We should see if the members of this forum who want to help and can not attend, make a group donation.

Also, I wonder is the site would want to make a donation.

I sent an email to American Muscle about a few weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet?

For those of you who would like to make a donation PM me and I can send you my address, make the checks out to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. They will have a repersentative at the event and I will be collecting all the donations and presenting them to him/her there.

Thanks for the support folks.

If anyone would like to paypal a donation to the Charity Cruise let me know. You can send it to me and I will cut one check from all the donations.

My paypal address is ajackson15@alltel.net

And I will cover the 3% fees that paypal takes out. Just be sure to put your screen name on the notes box of the donation. That way I know who to tell that I got the donation, as well as put your name on my car (or anyone's car you prefer) for being a Supporter.

Well the event was a huge success! Over $1,000 was raised for the charity! Thanks to Venom for the donation!

I will have pictures and video (from the tail of the dragon, and the cruise to PF) up as soon as possible. this new job has me working crazy hours right now, so I don't have much time to get online!
