Stolen Mustang
 

So. Yesterday i drove the honda to work.
About 7:30 i get a phone call from my buddy creigan

"Hey, Where the hell is your mustang? Cause it sure as hell aint in your garage"


Goddamnit.



Ok. Rewind about 2 months ago. Im lookin for a new roommate and find one. A guy chris, mechanic, works at Goodyear tire.

He moves in, 2 days later he is drunk and riding his rocket, he misgauges a turn and lays it down at about 50mph. No helmet, no jacket, just tshirt and jeans.

anyways, he got charged with a DUI, and he lost his job. He finally got a new job waiting tables, he is late on rent.

5 weeks after he moved in he finally pays me $500 for rent. Problem is the rent was $700, however i knocked 100 off cause he helped me with my brakes. His end of utilities came to 80 bucks.

So, he is 180 short. Meanwhile im letting him drive my honda to help him out with gettin to work and all.

Then the cops show up at my house one night looking for him cause he missed a court date.
They told me "If we see him driving your car he will be arrested, your car will be impounded and your insurance will raise cause you let a person with a DUI drive yer car"

bastard.

i see him that night and tell him no more driving my cars. I said if there is an extreme emergency you can take one, but you better have a serious explanation.

A week later im at work, my buddy Tim calls me up and says "Where are you at?"
"im at work"
"Oh.... well... yer car is at chats!" (chatfields is the local bar)
So i message my roomate "WHERE THE **** IS MY MUSTANG"
Tim calls me up 3 min later and says he jumped up and ran out and took off. lol.

anyways, i chewed him out. I took my keps and put em somewhere he wouldnt find em. So i thought.

yesterday, im at work. Chris still owes me 180 for the first month he was there and is 2 weeks late with the next 700 plus utilities, he is in to me for about 1,000.

So, im already pretty sour at that.

My friend Creigan is up at my house working on wiring my hot tub back up. He gets it wired up, cleans it out, fills it up and lets her rip. He calls me and gives me the good news.

20 minuits later i get another call.

"Hey, Where the hell is your mustang? Cause it sure as hell aint in your garage"

Goddamnit.

How the **** did he find the keys? why the hell did he take the car? ****ING BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!

I call him, get VM.

I call up a girl he works with.
"Callie, this is chris. is my mustang at yer work"
"Uhh no, why would it be here?"
"well my roomate said he was working today"
"Uhh.. yeah, he was fired a week and a half ago"

I call the bar.
"Daphne, this is chris. Have you seen that rotten **** bastard worthless piece of **** roomate of mine?"
"yeah he was here a few minuits ago but left, chris, he got the **** beaten out of him with a shotgun by his father cause he tried to intervene in a fight his mom and dad were having"
"dont believe a word that comes out of his mouth. if you see him tell him to call me immediatly and if my car is not in my driveway 20 minuits from now im calling the police and reporting it stolen."

So far about 30 minuits has gone by since Creigan saw my mustang was missing. I go out for a smoke, go back in to work, do some work, 45 min. Im PISSED. called him again, no answer.

I go online to get the Littleton Police departments number.

Callie, the girl who works where he apparently was fired from calls me up and says the cops were just there looking for him.

So not only does he not have a job, but he doesent fe3el the need to repay debts, the cops are looking for him, he has no licence, and is probably gonna get my car impounded.

So i call littleton PD. I try to report the car stolen and they say i gotta call Jefferson county instead of littleton even though i ****ING LIVE IN LITTLETON.

I am just about to call Jeffco PD and report it stolen when i get a call from Creigan, "Dude, yer car is back in the garage. Tim is on his way up here, i pulled in behind your car blocking it in and my car magically broke down and will be here all night"
Thank god my car is back.

I called him last night repeatedly, looked for him, he was nowhere to be found. I called him 4 times this morning and finally he calls me back.

"Dude, you are DONE here. you have a week to get your **** out of here or im pawning everything you own to get the money you owe me"

I found out how he was getting in my car, cause he diddnt know where the spare key was. He has a complete lock pick set for about 12 different car manufacturers. I just dont understand how he got past the fact the key is supposed to be chipped for the car to work. I found the key where i left it.

Joke is on that asshole though. I have both sets of keys on me, my mustang is locked, and his lockpick set is locked up in my trunk.

Tonight im staying at my girlfriends place up north cause tomorrow she has a court date for the whole stalker thing.

im sure something eventful will be happening somewhere before that is all said and done.

Im still wondering how he managed to pick your car, not only is he damaging your car, but he must of done some crazy ass ****. Because i made a copy of my stang's car key one time, but it was just a copy of the key, it oopens the door and truck, but it cant turn the car on since it odsn't have the chip in it. My question is also why you still have him around? He lies to you, is in desperate need for money, is taking your **** without asking. watch your things man, he sounds like hes in desperate need, he might be getting your things and selling things that you wont notice are gone. Specially now that you already kicked him out, he might jack some of your stuff or something to get back at you.

Yah. unfortunatly there are tons of laws in place that prevent me from kicking him out. good thing he isnt too versed in them. I think there is a loophole though allowing me to boot him if he has been there under 180 days.

No damage to the car, the pick set he has is a badass pick set. it is made for automotive and used by professionals for unlocking cars, there are about 6-7 specific picks for every manufacturer in it. probably about 80-90 picks total. bitching set. The chip is what confuses me, unless he has some master keys or something, he shouldnt be able to start the car. so i guess he had to know where the keys were.

I dont think he is the kind of person who would steal my stuff and sell it, even that is a bit out of character for him, i think that is too low of a move for even his own warped sence of eithics. He has enough stuff he could sell, he has a VERY nice toolbox with very nice snap-on tools. Far better than any tools i have in my garage, he has a $375 snap-on drill that ROCKS. I think if he got desperate enough he would sell his own stuff before stealing and selling.

either way, soon he will be gone and i wont have to worry about it anymore. I have a lot of friends in my area and they all know the history of what has happened. They swing by my house from time to time and check to make sure my car is still there and that nothing fishy is going on.

id **** someones world up if my **** was missing. ive managed to get into quite a few cars at work if its the same model. you just have to wiggle the key a little bit. And since hes a mechanic, locking the car does nothing. i could be in your car in 20 seconds using something i found in your garage. mustangs are easy to get into.

however you made a good choice by getting him out. going behind your back and taking your car to the bar is rediculous. an eye for an eye isnt in my vocab. i prefer a head for an eye.

Well right now he has access to my place while im at work. So im being pretty goddamn resonable with him. I told him he owes me 180 from last month, and to forget about what he owes me this month he just needs to go.

idea behind that is that if i take ALL his money he might not be able to afford to move out.

I have next week off though. If he isnt out by then im gonna start getting real nasty.

as far as breaking into a car, yeah, piece of cake, but good luck fooling the ingnition system, our mustangs DO have chipped keys, if they use a non chipped key it kills the fuel pump and the damn thing wont even start.

he must have found the key. i DOUBT he paid th 60-80 bucks to have a key made.

Hell, cars with the door lock pins are rediculously easy to get into, get a coat hanger, put in a sharp U shaped bend, and get it under the door lock pin, and lift.

this guy has just had a lot of bad luck. he had a pretty good job, nothing phenominal but he was making maybe 30-35k a year. not bad for 22. he lost his job, wrecked his only mode of transportation.

im not OVERLY worried now that he has no access to a chipped key, plus my friends check on my car to make sure it is there, but i can NOT have a roommate that i dont trust.

sucks, but hey, thats life.

youd be suprised what you learn and what you have access to while working for a dealership. he needs 3 things to drive your car. a friend in parts, a vin, and a blank key which probably costs 5 bucks at cost. they keys dont have a chip in them. we only have theft device which cuts off fuel.

I just noticed something, this guy has only been your room mate for 2 months?!?!?!???? you made it sound like this guy was your room mate for like years dude. All this happened in 2 months yo, How can you say you trust this guy?, If all this happened in just 2 months dont you think there is deff something a little wrong here.

First off, kick this guy out, you have every reason too, but just give him his "30 days" required by law. Then, next room mate you find, your suppost to collect the First and LAST months bill at the start of the rent. And collect all bills at the BEGINNING of the month. You see you got yourself into problem by collect debt, not a bill. When you charge someone at the beginning of the month, you are collecting a bill to avoid debt, when you charge someone at the end of the month, your collecting a debt, your main thing as the home owner is you want to avoid the debt. Remember dude, its YOUR name under all that stuff, not any of your room mates, that house is under your name, your credit, hes just going to mess things up for you.

He violated his moving in agreement by failling to pay his part so you as the homeowner have the right to evict him. But the home owner (you) must give him a 30 day notice. After that your legally free to get all his **** and dump it outside away from the property and he is no longer allowed to trespass onto your property.

Obviously even if he gets another job its not going to last, this guy has got you into enough problems that you dont need in your life as is. Just put an ad on myspace for a roomate or soemthing or why not just have the wifey move in with you?

Wow. I would hope you got all your ducks in a row on this one. There are laws to protect you and, also him. Get it in writing. You can take in a complete stranger off the street and he has rights after that, unless you state something in a document. (I'm sure you did that).

I would get a lawyer anyway to discuss your liabilities to this scofflaw. He may be inept at common sense, but he may have worthless friends who could help him get something for nothing.

You are the the one who could, ultimately pay the price of letting a POS live with you. Don't beat his ass because then you are liable again. Just document everything man. Sue him for money he owes you, and get rid of him ASAP.

Kindof with rebel here, id get an attorney, if he sees you have an attorney on him then he will know that you are serious about wanting him out and wanting your money and hopefully he'll just pay you and leave. Dont resort to physical violence as thats just going to put you in more problems and then that might have you oweing him money.

Or just kindof lie to him and tell him you got an attorney to help you do all this correctly,that'll have him on his toes.
