HD football games are the best! And unless i'm mistaken (if i am i know someone will tell me) neither plasma or LCD can as of yet match the brightness of a tube tv.

Isn't a tube TV what most of us have?

OK, last question, so a HD Tube TV is a pretty safe bet if I wanted to settle with a smaller 30" TV.
But if I go with say a 37" or 42" then go Plasma/LCD?

No, you go with this http://jvc.com/main.jsp?pageID=3

I saw these the other for the first time next to a bunch of other TVs and the picture was great.

It is on my Christmas list this year, now hopefully wife buys it for me.

theres like 3ft between me and my 42inch plasma lol...

i hate bringin up dead threads but just tryin to read what jack knows about these flat panel TV's. only because this TV here http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?model...hId=138&page=2 is on sale at the BX for 2400 and that is pretty much what i expected to pay for a TV that will suit my needs. since it sells at a AAFES store it should be good to go to germany since different countries use different voltages.

what do you guys think? hold off for a better deal. compared to PANA's they have here this thing blows them out the water. bright, crisp, and all shiny black. i dont want another silver TV. i had a 24" sony TV for like 4 years.

I love my 52" Misubshi DLP set; picture quality is AMAZING!!

Thats kindof a lot dude, i paid $2,000 for my 42", a wall mount, and a 5.1 Reciever dolby digital. go to www.newegg.com but i dont know if they ship to your address.

BTW a little out of topic but since were bringing up a dead thread anyways,

Hows it living over there, Like everytime you move around do you like get a new apartment for yourself or what, Because since you just buy Big TV's and stuff id picture it has to be a hassle moving that around country to country and then back home. When my buddy got sent to iraq he was dying to trade me his 52" inch plasma for my laptop which i regret not doing so, so that he could take it to iraq.

When I was searcing... generally a 42" LCD was a lil' more than a 42" plasma.

I plan on basically splitting the middle and getting a 37" LCD Westinghouse. I really like the way they look, priced well, and heard good things about them.

The only thing stopping me from a 42" Plasma is it's simply too big for my apartment.

i checked out that website and saw they dont ship to APO address's. so thats out of the question. plus pratically all of the tv's i was interested in didnt come with built in speakers. it may be better that way but i just want the convenience now.

actually i live in a dorm room with some other dude. it f'ng sucks. we cant live off base here in korea. i live with another person because of my low rank, senior airman. i leave korea in about 6 months but i have a 36 month tour in germany so this tv (if i buy it) its only gonna go through one big move in the next 4 years. military pays contractors to pack your stuff and then it gets shipped to your next duty station about 2 months later. no real hassle besides video taping all of your belongings. i heard some horror stories.

Make sure you get something with HDMI. I just got this one for my daughter and looks awesome, I have it hooked up to the pc so you can replace two things with one for you college guys.
