My dad, a ricer????

So I just bought a new town house about 24 mile east or where I live now and my commute is going to suck so I'm looking for a DD that I can beat on. So I tell my dad I'm looking for a civic that runs good and he starts telling me it would be cool to have a civic because the aftermarked world for those cars is huge. I said no dad, I'm not modding a civic....I will only mod the stang. Then he proceeds to tell me there are a couple of younger guys at his work that have really nice imports with cool decals and all kinds of modifications. At this point I want to hang up the phone cause I'm getting sick, but I couldn't freaking believe it.

I then explained to him that I refuse to be a "Ricer"...then I explained to him what a "Ricer" is. He started laughing about the "Ricer Flyby's". But I was like WTF, my dad is a ricer! This is coming from a guy who had some pretty bad azz muscle cars when he was growing up! His rational is that if I'm going to drive it, I should have fun with it and then bring the big dog out on the weekends....ummmm NO

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty funny story, but if he keeps up this "Ricer" talk he's not getting any xmas presents from me! ha ha ha ha.

LOL sounds like you have a problem on your hands! My dad wouldn't support a ricer even if his life depended on it. he hates 'em

ya...my dad wouldnt want to get a damn civic anyway...lol but he grew up in his first car...a 1970 GTO...

and my mom had a 69 Mustang...

even when i lowered the stang they were like...ur not gettin all fast and furious on us are u? they are wierd but love muscle

Ghostalker 09-13-2006 11:39 AM

wow, lol... reminds me of an old event
stang00... his dad owned a ~94 acura integra, red... with a VERY loud and hilarious sounding fart can on it, as well as a crazy loud sub (or two?) and a large amp. Didnt sound good, just very loud, and would usually rattle the car. Well, stang00 got his hands on this car for the winter season last year and we all had soem fun with it, since it was his dads car (and no one likes him) we ran it into shopping carts, snow banks, and anything we could run over. The car ran like crap, i drove it on more than one occasion and it was like a toy...
My dad however, had a 1965 buick... riviera I think. He had it jacked up in the back a good amount and BIG THICK tires on there, something that would equate to 375+ nowerdays, drag slicks really. That was his first car, lol... he always loved buicks, and had several old ones like that, restored them all etc. always loved muscle but never owned any to my memory. He would love to have a new red GT...

when ever i sell someone auto parts for their honda or kia, or any rice burner for that matter. I always say " make sure no chopsticks are in there..." almost no customer laughs at that, but the guys with me behind the counter alway crack up.

PColav6 09-13-2006 07:21 PM

My dad has/had a Stingray...he considers every import with a fart can on it a total joke, and no one in our family has a non-american vehicle.. :D

/redneck

But I think your dad probably thinks that these ricers are neat because he's trying to be in with the current "cool crowd", which mostly consists of college/highschooler with civics and toyotas and nissans etc that congregate in the Best Buy parking lots.

GREG@SN95 09-13-2006 09:55 PM

+2 on that one. If its something that makes me go faster they dont care, but if it improves mpg or something like that they might give a S**t.
