Thinking about selling it.

I am so fed up with my set up, that i am starting to think about taking the Procharger, hood, spoiler off and letting it go. I have just about all of my stock parts(bumpers, suspension, etc)and it only has 36k on it. I am uncertain about my future at Fords, so i will not have any more money to be sinking into it. Even tho, Sean(specializes in blowers) has already agreed to make up some brackets to hold the blower in place, but i am just not feeling the car anymore. I feel like i have wasted too much time and money trying to get it right.

I should change my screename to Moneypit.

Just over the weekend i raced a supposedly heavily modded Charger. I blew him away and when i got down the road i had all types of problems. Now i have a exhaust leak at the manifold, shredded another belt, and my water pump is leaking again. WTF. Not sure if its the water pump or the plastic intake. I havent seen any coolant above the pump and its not running hot.

All i ever wanted was a 400 plus hp car for street and occassional track visits. I could have had an 04 Cobra(dammit, Lance) just about paid off by now.

Sorry about the soapbox speech/rant but i am pretty much fed up with it.

Advice/Opinions blast away.

+1

I haven't had any problems with my procharger setup or waterpump issues. At first my belt tensioner was bad and shreded the belt, but after that its been smooth sailing. Sorry to hear about your problems.

Cobras are readily available. You could sell your stuff quite easily and im sure that procharger would go without any problems. No use having something you dodnt like. I could put that procharger to use.

Dude sell the procharger and get a whipple s/c and if it is your intake no worries you wont need it anymore. The exhaust leak isnt that big a deal just need a stronger gasket...or hell just get a built motor

MattJ 08-23-2006 07:05 AM

ive got some brand new header gaskets ill trade you for the entire procharger setup. You dont even have to remove your manifolds, just loosen em up and pull em away.

I hear ya. I was wondering if I should Mongoose my current car or just leave my car alone as is. If I put a blower on, it will probably bring more problems than I have time or patience to fix. I think if I see a great deal on a black or mineral grey (rare) 03 Cobra, I'll jump on that instead.

Drive something else (rental car, or some other beater DD if you have one) and put the stang in the garage or something, completly out of sight. After that week, you will appreciate it again!

Sounds to me like all you need is a cobra, it is pretty sad though that all the money and stuff you put into it, and all the broken parts and trouble shooting and so on and so on just to get to the power of a stock cobra. Id get rid of it and get a cobra with warrenty so you dont have to worry anymore about it.

Buy a cobra and call it a day. Lemme tell you I was thinking the EXACT same thing about my old mustang, so after a couple of weeks of looking in the autotrader I found my 99 cobra convertible. Best car I have ever had. Also I agree with the DD thing because I drive a honda civic to work and back and stuff and that thing is SLOW. So on the weekends I pop out the mustang and I just have this grin on the whole time I am driving it. If you're really sick of your mustang though...sell it....and buy yourself an asian car. Though most people here won't admit it they are top of the line and will last you a LONG time.

The owner of a gas station wants it. I am going to give everything some thought.

Thanks for your advice and opinions.

I know what you are talking about....somewhat. At least mine aint a money pit.
A Cobra is an entirely different animal. You will enjoy it. I refuse to test drive or ride in one cause I know it will mark the end of my car.
Speaking of animals, thanks for the avatar. Mine is better cause it works. :salook:
