Window tint
 

hey, im going to drop off my car to get my windows tinted in about an hour. i was just wondering if i should get a strip of tint across the top of my windshield? lemme know what ya think

Yes, it looks good and actually serves a purpose.

20% all the way around & windshield

alright, just dropped the car off. im gettn the strip on the front windshield, 35% on front sides (legal limit) and i almost did limo tint on the rear but the guy said i wouldnt b able to see out at night so i decided to go with 17% on the rear window. ill take pics and post some before and afters when done

Personal choice, but I left one off of mine. It annoys me to have it up there. :) BTW your car is going to look ten times better with tint.

yea hte only gay thing is that i had that stupid pony on the rear window. and its on the inside. so i think they have to put the tint over it cuz they dont wanna risk ruining my rear defroster. but yea i finally decided to put money into my car. the window tint will be done in a few hours. then i have a viper alarm system waiting to go in. then after i get that in i start saving for the 2000 cobra r hood and the roush stage 3 front fascia. itll prob all b done by beginning of summer next year

WAIT!!!!! You did tell them not to tint the dot matrix on the rear window tright? YOu don't want it to look like this.....

i didnt tell them that. they are always tinting windows and they r pretty good at what they do. i kinda assumed they would know not to do that. well see. i go pick it up in about a half hour. hour tops. lets hope for the best . what happens if htey did put the tint on the dots?

Itll come off eventually. Just have them take it off, if you want it tinted, you have to use black vinyl.

i will b PISSSSSSED if it starts to come off. they better not **** it up.

What's the deal with the dot matrix anyway? Can you not put tint over it?

You can, but... It will eventually bubble, or just peel off.. Most tint shops will just put a strip of black vinyl over it. :)

We also have the dots in the front around the rear view mirror. My strip across the top didnt lay all the way cuz of em.

Yeah I have it in the back window and also some in the front of the rearview mirror... actually, I think everyone does. Since the front dot matrix is in an odd shape, how do they do the vinyl? I mean.. is the whole top strip of 'tint' vinyl or window tint with vinyl covering the matrix?

thats another great feature of having a vert... i have no dot matrix on the back window!

alright. good news. they didnt tint the dot matrix. but they didnt put black vinyl on it? what should i do? ill take pics within the next day or two. they told me to wait 5 days before rollin windows down
