CJ Pony....Customer Appreciation Day

Well, for the second year in a row, CJ Pony in Harrisburg, PA held their annual Customer Appreciation Day (CAD) and all proceeds went to my favorite charity, Home of Their Own (HoTO).

HoTO was started by yours truly in May of 2001 after saying goodbye to my 17 month old daughter after she lost her battle with cancer. HoTO provides isolation housing to kids with cancer that are being treated at Hershey Medical Center and who have had a bone marrow transplant.

CJ Pony has been conducting CAD for the last 6 years, but the last two have decided to gove all proceeds to HoTO. Thank you CJ Pony!!!

This year was the biggest ever.....about 400 Mustangs! All in one place! Free food, free drinks, adn free fun. HoTO received $7,000 and we had a special visit from Dillion who is a very sick, 14 yr old boy who is currently our guest at HoTO. I sent a driver in my Mustang to pick him up so he could ride in style.......hey, not much better then a blown vert, right?

Anyway, I would first like to publicly thank the owners and workers at CJ Pony. The staff is amazing, the shop is amazing, and the event is amazing.

I also learned a few things.....

1- Red Ford GT's look amazing in person!!!!

2 - I have not seen a Ford Pantara in years....on Saturday I saw two and they still look wierd.

3 - 1999 Mustang V-6 rims look like hell on a 1971 Mach 1

4 - Some people are extremely cheap. They have cars worth tens of thousands of dollars, drive to an event like this, eat and drink for free, and won't buy a raffle ticket.

5 - Some people are extremly generous. They drives piles of crap, spend a few minutes at an event and have to leave early, but make sure they empty their pockets on raffle tickets eventhough they won't be around to collect their winnings.

Anyway, if you ever get a chance to attend this annual event, please do!

wow what an outstanding event and for such a deserving cause. I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter in 2001. It brought a tear to my eye as my little girl just turned 18 months last week; cudos to you for starting HoTO as well.
