It's been awhile...
What's up guys?! Anything new?
I've been working a lot and taking a class this summer to get one out of the way. I work at a golf course so when I'm not working, im playing :) I'm still looking at selling my Mustang but I I'll be waiting till at least the end of summer to see if I really want to do this. As of now I'm starting to look into the Civic Hybrid. 49mpg city/51mpg highway for under 23K I put all my gas payments on my ccredit card and just added it up. From 5/13 to 6/11 I had $284 in gas payments!! That's a little high for me, but I'm still around at least 230 a month in gas EEK!!!!!  Other than that, just been gettin a lot of compliments of my car lately, everyone loves the sound. Have fun guys! |
Thats abut what I was paying each month so I moved into town much closer to work where I only live about 2 miles away...But still drive alot on the weekends...Cut my bill down to about $100 a month :)
|
I'm around $250 a month, for the Mustang alone. Another $200+ a month for the Explorer. It sucks, but you can only cut back on driving so much.
|
That gas total sucks man. Sorry to hear that. Although, dont get a hybrid unless you LIVE on the interstate IMO. Not worth the extra cost and crap.

Well I do live on two major free ways, and one of them I travel 5 days a week to college back and forth.
As far as hybrids, I like the Civic Hybrid and at 49mpg city/51mpg highway I would lessen my gas total by 3 times. If I spend 250 a month now at 17mpg, that's only 86 bux a month. Savings of 164 a month and just under 2K a year. With me only making 8K a year while in college (and still have 3 years left) 2K dollars is a lot of money to save. 5 year payment on the new Civic hybrid would only be 125 financed after a reasonable downpayment (16K DP, very well could be more), add gas that's about 86 more a month and that totals about 210. Even with the addition of a new car payment I would still be saving 40 bux a month over my current gas expenses. Insurance drops about 15 bux a month and when I turn 21 it's another 35 bux. Good grades is another 50 bux for me. The savings start adding up, so overall, it's definately a possibility. |
Dont forget, you get a tax write off with Hybrids now too :)

Hey man, take care of your business as you need to. Mustangs will be around for many years to come to feed the need for speed and thrills. Do what you must to stay focused and stay in school.

hey thunder..if u do end up selling ur car..would be parting out?
|
If i did sell it...
I would sell privately and deal with my buyer, if I get what I would be looking for I would keep everything on the car. I'll basically be parting out whatever the potential buyer would not want and cut him a better deal. I could be selling my Xcal2, BBK CAI, JL Audio 10" subs, sub box, autotex 700w amp/sub wiring, and possibly my Autometer cluster gauges along with the autometer tranny temp and A/F ration gauges (lunar series). The cluster is iffy for I would have to buy a factory cluster to replace since I don't have an origional (bought the car with the autometer). Even with the purchase of a factory cluster I should easily make a profit out of it. Stuff I CANT sell is my SLP exhaust stuff, nothing to replace it with. Unless someone wants to send me a cheap cat back and headers/midpipe. But that'll more than likely be staying on the car. Rims/wheels possibly could be sold but I would need to find some cheap tires to mount on my 17x8's stockers. Also I would have a set of anthracite 17x8 bullet's wrapped in Dunlop Winter Sport tires. (Paid over 700 for the tires) |
I spend $400 a month on the Hemi Durango for gas. I get about 12-14 city and 18-20 hwy.

if you REALLY want good gas mileage AND something that goes fast you can get a human bullit, i mean crotch rocket
