Couple O' Questions

Hey all. ok, I have a few Bullitt related questions. First being, I know that the '03/'04 Mach 1's are 4v engines, anyone know if the '01 Bullitt's are as well, or if they're just the "standard" 2v? Second question...I have the opportunity of getting an '01 Bullitt GT...only thing is, the car is about 6k more than what I have left to pay off on the loan. And then there's the insurance, of course. The Bullitt is #570, True Blue...gorgeous. :tearyeyed 16,000 miles on it. Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Thanks.

How much do they want for it??? If it's any reasonable price I say get it, esp with only 16000 miles on it. Bullitts are 2V's but they do have a awesome NON plastic intake, unlike a regular 2V GT.

the bullit has its onw special manifodl which is a full metal one which loves nitrous, also it has a stiff suspenion with koni shocks and is about an 1" lower than a regular gt, also it has a different catback thena regular gt that flows a bit better and is a bit louder also.

Bullits also have a different leather, different gauge cluster which I really thinks is kinda hard to read! The different intake is good for an additional 5 hp!

Yes, everything I have ever read about the Bullitt have said it has 5 more hp than a standard gt. Nothing to even thinkin about bc if theres a fat guy in the bullit and skinny guy in the gt, it could easily win in a race. And I think it has better exhaust tips but I know there is no high flow catback. It would have atleast gotten 10 more hp. 5 is just pathetic. Oh, and I bellieve those bullitt's only came in dark green, a la the bullitt movie. So I dunno about that true blue thing.

The guy is asking 17,900 or best offer. Kelly Blue Book is saying it's worth 16k, so I'd go to 16.5k or something like that. Thanks for the info.

No, they also come in black. There's another color but I cant remember what it is. Must be "true blue"

I forgot to mention that they also come with 13' brakes! Which is a plus! But that brake set up can be had on a regular GT for $400 or less! ;)

The intake may only be good for 5 hp stock but there sure is a reason people are spending 1000+ on a intake swap. It flows better, can be ported to flow even better, and is obviously stronger

Bullit has cobra brakes, tokico shocks/struts. special springs, seats, gauges, tips, no spoiler. It was available in green black and blue.

wheel and deal the man. tell him what you will give for it. Tell him to take it or you walk. Most will change it up if you start to leave. Trust me he can take it down in price. Even if you walk away and he does not lower it, you can always come back and take it if you want.

The dirty thing to do is talk to another one of the salesman, another would be more than happy to take the commission.

Get rid of that v6 and get the bullitt. They retain their value because its a "special edition" just like the mach 1, and the cobras retain value

Joyrider564 07-12-2005 09:22 PM

Correct me if I may be wrong, but the Bullitt is VERY similar to the newer mach 1's. The difference is of course the 4v and 2v engine, the hood scoop, and front spoiler on the mach 1.... other than that, i do believe that they are very similar a.k.a. brake setup, and in the suspension setup. Also.... Bullitt's come in the green, black, and blue.... and i say 492% that you should go for the bullitt over the V6, even if you do pickup a little debt :-D
