Another reason to do repairs yourself...

Wow that is Effing insane, I will never go to Jiffy Lube!
|
lol I was a manager at a Jiffy Lube when I was 18. I remember all the scams. NEVER go to a Jiffy Lube, that company will hire a kid right off the street and gives no sh*t whether or not he knows how to change oil. I remember when they would tell us to do anything to get people to buy services. A good trick was to take a piece of white paper and put a drop of fresh tranny fluid on it (nice and bright red) and then put grease on your finger and wipe the fluid off their trans dipstick and tell them to compare what it should look like with what it does look like lol. Run your finger around the inside of the throttle body and tell them it's all clogged. $80.00 for a fuel injection cleaning. Man I could go on forever about those tricks lol I feel like sh*t when I had to do them. I never did it to anyone who looked like they couldn't afford it though. I'm a bastard.....

Indeed, thats why i change my own goddamn oil. Its pretty hard to rip off myself.
I have a friend who worked at jiffylube, should ask him if he was ever involved with this... |
Yeah, that's why I change my own fluids too. The few times I did have to use these places, I bird dogged them real well. They knew I was watching, and they by God did what I payed for. For all the youngsters on this forum, do yourself a favor, if you do not know how to change your oil, learn how. It is not hard, and it is alot cheaper to do it yourself. As far as that goes, learn everything you can about maintenance on your car, brakes, fluids including coolant, battery swaps, etc. you will be rewarded for it in the long run.

I think if you are a guy and don't know how to do something as simple as changing your oil, you'd have to be an idiot!

To some peoples credit, maybe they didn'y have a father figure or if they did, maybe he was too busy to do stuff like that or even worse, he didn't make time to show the youngster. Not everybody comes out of the womb with the knowledge or ability to work on a car. That being said, we have a forum here to show people how to do it and do it right. I don't have a problem sharing information. So, if you have a question, ask!
Now go out and learn how to work on your car.:poke: |
well...i might have to investigate this...my dad took mine to jiffy lube about 2k miles ago...hmm
and im not gonna lie...i dont know how to change my oil |
Just 1 reason why I don't trust people with my car
