guilty/worried feeling

I have come to a point with my 04 GT where I am starting to get worried about modding it anymore. I plan on installing a vortech S-Trim on it next year, but there are a few things bothering me about the decision.

1. I still have 3 more years of making payments on the car.

2. 8 months out of the year this is my daily driver and I depend on it to get me to work.

3. with the mods I already have on it my warranty is a thing of the past.

I guess I am just imagining something just snapping or breaking and me be out of a car aswell as making a car payment on the broken car.

Am i worrying to much or is this a common way of thinking when you get into the bigger mods such as blowers?

you only live once...with a conservative tune you'll be fine..and if anything breaks..fix it

You have a nice stang and nice mods done to it, I really like your stang for some reason. Good luck on whatever you do to it, By looking on your stang im guessing you know what your doing so I wouldn't worry as much about putting a blower on it. I wouldn't go with a Vortech tho, my buddy had one and his stang was still pretty slow, he use to get beat all the time by mustangs with nitrous. If you can afford it get a twin screw.

I guess If just save up some back up money then if anything breaks I will have the funds to fix it

Yeah maybe I should just save the extra cash and get the KB 1.7L

I'm in the same boat...i've got 5years/100k mile warranty still. But already changed exhaust/mid section/intake/nitrous. I see it was oh well just keep the stock parts incase something does happen, even tho this winter i'm doing a turbo set-up capable of 700hp tuned.

Nah bud just do what I am gonna do.... I am in the process of gaining funds for an 03 Terminator engine (w/supercharger) and the T-56 transmission... I am having the rear-end built by Andy Law (from Outlaw Motorsports).... With a pully change and a tune from MD Motorsports.... I am looking at a "GT" with an indestructable drivetrain... and also whoopin' the crap out of almost anything on the road.... And this is all in my 04 Comp. Orange GT.....

madmatt 05-11-2006 03:19 PM

Cough cough pay the car off first cough cough

sorry, had something in my throat

Nah, it can be supercharged safely, but I myself would have a problem putting 6k into a blower that could be paying the car off, making it MINE.

PureStang 05-11-2006 03:33 PM

i was worried about that stuff too...i dont really care anymore...if i want my car to a point where i feel is good for a DD..then thats when ill stop.....

and yes...pay it off first like matt said...not all of us can have our cars paid in full at time of purchase:innocent:

InitialB 05-11-2006 03:42 PM

I am not really worried about making payments on a car that is fully functional its making payments on a car that is sitting in my driveway with a broken rearend or blown motor that gets me worried but. I guess if i do the mods the right way on my GT and pay special attention to the tune, aswell as having some back up cash in case anything goes wrong then I should be ok.

madmatt 05-11-2006 03:54 PM

Yes, you can do that, but you have to KNOW that ANYTHING can happen.

Badfish 05-11-2006 04:00 PM

eh people's definition of DD is different...I would be perfectly comfterable driving a car with a full race suspension, gutted interior, racing seats, etc every day as long as it has a radio

NoKturnaL 05-11-2006 04:04 PM

Just keep modding as you go.

If I had the money sooner for a blower than I would of had one already.. You just gotta make sure U get all the "supporting" parts/extras for the Blowers extra power..And I nice tune...and your car will be functionally stable....

Dont fear the .....oh..ya..we aint talking about gears..

How can I say this without hurting your feelings?:poke:

If your that worried, park it till you pay it off.:bash:

You obviously did not think that much about it before you put the mods on.:wallbash:

Very nice car by the way. You could probably find someone to take it off your hands and buy a mini van.

Of course, this is just my opinion and you know about opinions.

Hell, I started modding mine two weeks after buying it and have not looked back. Been down the strip a few times. If the Stang breaks, gives me a reason to buy better parts.

You failed miserably at putting it nicely:nono:

NoKturnaL 05-11-2006 06:26 PM

dewd..just trade in ya car for a toyota Camry...then ya dont have to worry much about being confused if u should mod it.

InitialB 05-12-2006 03:38 AM

i guess some of you guys misunderstood my question, it wasn't worrying so much as tryng to be repsonsible about the whole thing.

Okay, I would say yes you are worrying to much. Actually , if you didn't have seconds thoughts before a large mod like the blower, etc., I would say, you have too much money.

But, IMO, treat them like the rest and the worry part will fade after you feel the power or the results.

Good luck with which ever you decide to do.

InitialB 05-12-2006 10:52 AM

ok thanks, the worrying is already going away just thinking about the pwer gains
