Default My 1973 Mustang Convertible.

My dad and I have had this for about 10-15 years and it has been garaged kept (very good condition for Iowa temperatures) during the winter and most of the summer, only driven on nice days and now since i turned 16 my dad has let me start cruising around in it and im taking it to its first Cruise night tomarrow night. She has a few minor paint blemishes but nothing major, she still shines bright, fuel guage doesnt work, clock doesnt work, and there is minor cracking of the vinyl on the drivers side door armrest. The only rust is a small line prob about 3 inches long and 1/8 of an inch thick on the drivers side door along the edge of the door where it shuts. She is It only has 39,800 miles on the odometer. She still runs strong and drives good, shifts good. It has a 351C 2v, automatic, all original. Color is Light blue. But I have some questions on the rearend and transmission. Did they come stock with a C-6 and a 9 inch rearend? And if they did come with the 9 inch wat spline did they come with?

Here are some current mods i want to start doing.

Engine Rebuild
Tranny Rebuild
Rearend Rebuild
Edelbrock Performer Intake
Edelbrock 4bbl Carb. 650 cfh
LT's with Flowmaster Original 40s
Detriot Truetrac Locker
Comp Cams K-kit

I dont have a digital camera so it might take some time for me to get some pics up but i will try and get some on here.

Any help would be appreciated, and I am open for any suggestions on what to do or not do to the car.

very nice...love them 73's espically with the 351 in it. I have one also, cept its a 302 4 speed auto. In the process of restoring it also. Past 2 years or so it has only see the garage. new suspension on it, Engine was rebuilt about 5 years ago, tranny rebuilt about 4 years ago. It has 2xx,xxx miles on it and still running strong. I was in a wreck with it, a accord pulled out infront of me, totaled his car but bent my hood and fender back, gotta love old american cars.

My brother also had a wreck with it and bent the quarter fender in about 10 years ago or so. We need the wheel wells replaced so we were gonna do that then.

Yeh they dont make cars like they used to. My friend and I had the 73 up to 100 mph with more left and she was planted to the ground, not going anywhere. But in my 95 it starts to shake and feels like the wheels are about to fall off, and i havent even broke 100 in the 95.
