Insurance for highly modded cars...
Just curious if you guys(and gals)have insurance that covers your mods.
|
Yep, all I have to do is give them a receipt of the mods. If something happens (God forbid), they'll pay for everything. And it doesn't raise my insurance for being modded, which is good b/c I pay enough as it is:mad:

Nope. I dont think my insurance company would like that.

I thought it was your own spec ED mustang... lol |
It is my own Special ED, but I told him to price the replacement parts from a Saleen and Roush.

Right now I go through Geico. The whole "modded" car thing was one of the reasons that I switched, plus it was a little cheaper. They just told me about it, but usually you have to ask.

I've got Statefarm and I guess they're alright. I highly doubt they would cover mods though. I do like that nothing has come up about my tickets though with my insurance...when that happens I am dead.

QUOTE=Mustang1549]Great deal on Insurance.........................
...........if your modded car isn't a daily driver. I got a quote for the Mustang from Hagerty for $563.00 a year and American Hobbyist for $344.00 a year for an "Agreed Value" ($25,000) policy.Thats for 50,000/100,000 Liability, 50,000 Liability PD, Medical 5000 per person and uninsured motorist w/$500 deductible. Qualifications: 1) Garaged when not in use. 2) Driven on limited basis(Pleasure rides,hobby functions, car shows,etc.) NO Mileage limit. 3) Modified and New limited production vehicles considered. You must have: 1) Good driving record. 2) 10 years driving experience. 3) At least one vehicle for every licensed driver in household. They listed mine as an "Exotic" and I had to provide pictures and a list of Mods and the cost of the Mods. I have never sat down and added it all up, it came to over $15,000 . So now if my car gets totaled I will get $25,000 instead of NADA of around $13,000. American Hobbyist: www.americanhobbyist.com Hagerty: www.hagerty.com off of streetstangs.net thanks to tacbear[/QUOTE] I think State Farm has policies for exotics |
I am going to give Hagerty a call when my car gets back next week with the blower installed. I meet all the requirements that you mentioned.
