High Compression engines

What are some advantages and disadvantages of high and low compression? Im planning on dropping a 302 block into my six-shooter from central coast mustang, and theres a 340 hp "high compression" engine, that looks pretty good to me. On the same note, what will i need to do for a transmission, and will my rear axle and diffrential be able to handle this?

Basically if you want to add forced induction get a low compression block like I am doing but if you want all motor you will want to get a high compression block as you can get more HP out of it. Now you can add forced induction to a high compression block but you will be limited to the amount of boost the block can take.

high-takes high octane ot keep from knocking, but like he said cant run as much boost.

low-loves boost out the ass, doesnt need high octane (if not running a blower), but will make less power.
