who hates their job?

akdjsflkjadf

man I really hate my job, it use to be so cool but in the past couple months it has sucked soooo much ass. i swear im so glad there's the internet cuz it keeps me from having to shop at some of these unethical retailers. the things they do just piss me off.. tell the customer we're non commission so they feel more comfortable, but we're still gonna push everything we ****ing can on you cuz it makes us look better to our managers and gets us promotions. yeah i've been at the same place for about 1 3/4 of a year and I've probably hated it the past 6 months - year. plus I HATE the customers here. I dunno if it's like this everywhere else, but they're all stupid as **** redneck's who you can't explain anything to. and i mean im not talking at a very high technical level at all. definately going job hunting this summer. just worried i won't be able to find a job that pays as well and has as much security around here :(

i wish i could quit my job, i wont be able to for another 4 years now that i extended 18 months so i would be able to live in germany for 3 years.

dannyb785 03-02-2006 10:35 PM

Christie... I worked grocery, then retail, then food services.

I started as host, then busser, and then server at a mexican restaurant.

Now I'm a server at a very nice steakhouse about 10 min from where I live. Job security is never a question and resturant hours are perfect. get there at 5, leave at 10 with $100 cash in your pocket. I'm telling you, while working hourly somewhere fun may be great and all, even though youre not guaranteed any money as a server, if you're good, you'll get rewarded.

I will never be anything else besides a server until I graduate college and get into computer engineering. The money I make is phenominal and I work maybe 30 hours at most in a week and still have plenty of time to study, relax, or whatever else I need.

silverstang2001 03-02-2006 11:55 PM

Icefreezen 03-02-2006 11:58 PM

No I hate David Hasselhoff with a passion. I had someone put a picture of him on my desk one day and I got p*****. Next day I had a pic of Pamela Lee Anderson on my walland i've been happy camper ever since.

silverstang2001 03-03-2006 12:07 AM

BlitzStyrke 03-03-2006 05:45 AM

I hate my job but at least it's only temporary until I graduate school or until I get an internship in Germany next year maybe. I've been working at my uncles hardware store for about 3 years now whenever I am home on breaks and such. When I started back in high school I didn't mind the job and they were pretty leniant with me. Now not so much though. I really hate customers, they are such jerks. And also now since I am the family I am almost like the whipping boy. Oh got a job nobody wants. Yeah give it to Brod. Sigh oh well. I've been wanting to leave for a while but I make better money than I would starting anywhere else so I'm kinda stuck.

MattJ 03-03-2006 05:52 AM

i only gotta put up with my job untill im done with school at the end of may.

madmatt 03-03-2006 06:35 AM

Well, to brighten the thread up, I love my job. Its perfect for a college student. My major is Civil Engineering, and I work WITH CIVIL ENGINEERS. I do autocad work and send out plans/make copies when needed. Its great pay, its experience in my major, and the people and hours kick ass. I have a parking spot, and my job is RIGHT ON CAMPUS. I literally drive to work, and leave work when I have class, go right back to work. Its amazing, and I lucked up BIG TIME. Even have my own office and interweb, which is bad lol.

Rabbit 03-03-2006 06:59 AM

I hate and love my job at the same time. It's easy as **** what I do (90% of the time play on the internet for 8 hours). But at the same time, we haven't had a raise in 3 years. I am seriously considering a career change.

I have an application in right now with a company called Varian, they install Cancer treatment equipment in hospitals. It's a travel job, but at the same time it will more than double my salary if I get it. I have a good friend that is trying to get me in (pretty good chance of getting it according to him). And another great part about this job, the first 8 weeks are training are all expenses paid in VEGAS!!!!!

But if that don't go through, I am thinking about going into Real Estate.

I love my current job. I work outside at a golf course. I've been there for 5 years and only a freshman in college. I make a good pay wage plus tips.

I'm going to be starting a co-op in fall to become a Master Techician, I'm stoked about that. The campus is kick ass and a sweet state of the art facility. It's an 80 week program but should be awesome.

damn 80 weeks. i thought my 22 week was long. the next job i want in the force is about 40-50 weeks for biomedical equipment should be a 6 figure job in the civilian life.

csledd 03-03-2006 09:35 AM

well im still in college for computer networking, and i won't quit my job cuz it'll look good on my resume.. better than working at some local pos shop that nobodies heard of. plus they pay me more than a local shop would. as far as networking jobs go around here.. there's not many at all, and they're mostly for local shops, but I think I might try for one this summer anyways when I take my certs

Shambles 03-03-2006 10:23 AM

Because I know you are all jealous of my job :).

Jack The Ripper 03-03-2006 10:24 AM

I have no complaints about my job. They treat me like an adult, i dont have to ask for break, i can take a break whenever i want as often as i want. I love the hours, i work with an excellent group of people, they pay me a buttload of money, give me respect, and i have a bitchin benefits package with a pretty wicked 401.

Dont get me wrong, there are other things i would rather do, unfortunatly they dont pay nearly as much.

I work for a great company and have a great career and make a great buck. BUT, I am ready for a change. I think that happens to everyone and I have fealt that way for a few years, Change is hard when you have mouths to feed.

Same here, only way Ill quit is if I open a business other than that dont think Ill go anywhere else. I have two business propositions that Im looking into now but when you have kids its not the same. If any of you youngsters want to experience different jobs or open up your own business best to do it when you have no kids. My wife opened up her law office 2 years ago and its the best decision she made. I had to give her a little push as she was scared but I told her its now or never as at that time we had no kids. Eventually Ill be able to quit my job and go to the gym and look good for her  .

Yea, I've actually just got back from my meeting about this. I'm going to be doing CAP (College Automotive Program), this is the Daimler Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep program to get me up to a Master Technician. They have a Ford program but it's only 40% of the way through. The college that I'll be studying at is only onle of 31 schools in the nation with this "CAP" program, and it's also recognized by Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge as the #1 school for this program! Yea, I'm stokedddd!

I LOVE my job!

I'm the CIO (Chief Information Officer)/Network Administrator for a mid-sized real estate development company. We have offices in Tucson, Phoenix, Vegas (WOOT!), and Seattle.

I get to travel, play with computers, and spend the company's $$$!! (Just spent $45K on equipment for the Vegas and Seattle offices....

..all this, and I make almost six figures a year...

I love my job....

foncarelli 03-03-2006 04:04 PM
