I have a 1989 Mustang GT 5.0. it isn't lowered or anything, in fact, its completely stock. i was wondering if i could put 16x8 wheels in the front and 17x9 wheels in the rear and not throw off the speedometer by much. someone told me once that if i were to do that the car wouldn't run right, and i know as much about cars as i know about women. I don't think it would look right, but yes you can put a 17x9 wheel on there with no problems. It shouldn't throw your speedo of by much if any, however you need to watch out on what kinda tire size you put on there....I would go with 17's all the way..

 

i just figured putting 16's in the front would give the front a lowered look. i never seen a picture so i wasn't sure how stupid it would look on my car. thanks for the help though
