Lowering springs and traction
 

Will lowering springs on stock suspension have any affect on off the line traction?

They tend to stiffen up your suspention so you dont get wasted energy from hard takeoff. Its not going to be a big difference in 1/4 times but every little bit helps. Obviously drag springs would be your best bet, but street/track springs do offer better results over stock.

regular lowering springs will actually make your launch a lil worse..so to answer your question, yes, why? i dont know, but a guy who drag races for a living (basically) told me that

Well its true and false at the same time. You want a stiffer spring for drag racing, but then again if you are lowered too much it hurts your transfer to the ground.

Yeah i heard they would make launching traction worse but i wasnt sure how true that was. Who makes a good drag spring?

eibach- www.tirerack.com is one of the places I've seen prices on them, Looks like they come with a R/R airbag too. I'm definately looking into them.

Lowering springs will hurt your 60 ft times at the track period.

Ideally you want a tall, loose spring in the front, and a stiff spring in the rear. The tall loose spring stores energy at rest...and transfers the weight to the rear on launch. The stiff rear spring transfers that force to the driveline keeping the tires planted on the road.
