setting the tps

Ok, One more thread on this and I'll stop talking about. I was reading on the installation of a plenum and throttle body and read that it is a good idea to go ahead and replace the tps. You have to adjust the tps to a certain voltage, how is this done? Also, I am leanin towards the trick flow plenum, and a 75mm throttle body (not sure which one) Should diff brands of TB fit the plenum. Is 75mm too big for a car without headers or should I go with a 70mm? Is a tune necessary?

Any install tricks are welcome

have you tried going to other forums and using the search button to look up TPS. i sure you just check for voltage before you take off your stock stuff and then check it again after you install the new t/b.

Too much is made of setting a new TPS. Just install it, reset the computer and you should be good to go. If you want, you can check the voltage which should be 0.9 volts at idle, but that is about it.

You want it about .9- 1.0 to be perfect. You have to use a bent paper clip to find the source and an a voltmeter. Make sure you check it, as mine was way off and this can make the car idle high. To be picky, you really want it at about .99.

There is a little play in the TBS,very little, but when you reinstall the TPS you can start the car and move it a little to adjust the idle.If it's still a little high you can use a small file or a roll of sand paper to elongate the holes a small amount. It doesn't take much.
