My mechanic told me that my steering rack was seeping and my pinion seal was leaking. Since the car has only 20k in miles he directed me to my dealer to get these things taken care of under warranty. My local Ford dealer fixed the leaking pinion seal under warranty but charged me a diagnosis fee to tell me that the seepage was from the dust cover and was normal. Needless to say I am in a rock and a hard place on this. Is Ford correct or is my mechanic? Appreciate any help on this.

 

Hmm good idea. If your car is under warranty period you should go to a dealer and ask for a price quote. It's the best opportunity to get a good deal on the steeling rack. Go for this deal guys. Believe me you will save god money.
