02 GT.. Can anybody lend any ideas to mach460 speaker problem?

Obviously I'm new to the boards but before joining I had been reading through some posts and everybody on here seems pretty knowledgable so I thought maybe somebody could throw me some two cents about my stereo problem? Other than the fact I've had three new head units installed since I bought the car in 05 due to the CD changer now I'm having speaker issues... All my speakers work, except both door speakers. A pillars work, and both deck speakers and subs as far as I know, and I'm only saying that because when the radio is first turned on I can hear them kick in after a couple seconds. I'm more of an engine person than stereo or electronics expert. I just find it odd that BOTH speakers would go at the same time, or is there some kind of seperate amp for just the bottom door speakers that could have fried? I miss how it used to sound without having to have the stereo cranked up so damn loud not to mention the hollow sound it has now. Just don't want to go throwing money at replacing both speakers if they aren't the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have the amps in the rear deck I'd check those first.

I believe each speaker has its own amp to it as well, kinda like on some of these vw's and nissan's have. But yeah check your trunk amps maybe one of them have blown or something?
