Default Starting issue

Ok, so I am having trouble starting my car. When I start the car it won't hold at idle and instead it just shuts off. If I rev it slightly and let it warm up for 5 minutes then the car runs great.

I don't know what could be wrong with it.

The ignition was replaced 3 years ago, the alternator was replaced last year, and I replaced the fuel filter last week /put an additive in the gas tank which has helped a bit, but hasn't solved the problem.

Anyone know what the issue could be?

Try cleaning the idle air control valve. Sounds like it has some gunk in it and the cold weather is making it stick and when it warms up it frees up.

It's usually a silver cylinder close to the throttle body. Pay attention to which way it goes on. I put one on backwards on my V6 when I did the windstar swap, makes a horrible noise.

IAC is stuck or you have a MASSIVE vacuum leak or the MAF is bork. Betting on IAC. I have a spare for 15 bucks + 8 shipping if you want it. Known good.

You guys are awesome. It started easily again. I can't believe the difference it made by just cleaning it was some carb cleaner.
