exhaust question

I have been looking at the slp loudmouth 1 catback which has 2 1/2" pipes, 3 1/2" tips, and of course the mufflers.

I saw someone selling the mufflers for 140 for both (he will tale 120). My question is, except for the tips, what's the difference between the stock (2 1/2") pipes with these mufflers, compaired to the compete catback.?

I don't know exactly which items you're talking about, but the differences are only going to be cosmetic. Obviously, like you said the tips are going to be different. Also, the stock pipes are probably not going to be polished stainless steel like the catback is.

However, as far as sound goes, it should be pretty close to identical.

That's awesome because id rather just replace the mufflers and tips since no ones gonna be lookin under my car anyway. I'll buy an h-pipe with the money i save

It's definitely the way to go. That's how I did my exhaust. You really don't need name brand pipes.

Isn't the stock pipe only 2 1/4"?

Not sure about the diameter of the stock pipe, but they will sound pretty much the same minus the polished tips like said before.

The difference is that our stock piping is 2 1/4" not 2 1/2"

Demetri X 06-26-2010 05:22 PM

Oh okay I thought it had 2 1/2"

I ended up selling my car anyway haha ill know for my next car tho
