Installing HIDs Problem

I got the dual beam HID kit from Dustin at SpikeMotoring.com. As far as I can tell, I've got everything connected. I've got the passenger side ballast mounted under the air filter, the driver side ballast behind the battery, and the switch controller thing behind the driver's headlight. One thing that confuses me is it came with a blue connector that looks like it connects to the stock headlight bult connector, which in turn connects to the three 'loose' wire connections comming from the HID switch controller. I'm just kind of unsure what might be the issue. I can take out that blue connector and run the three 'loose' wire connections straight to the stock headlight connection. I will probably disconnect everything and reconnect in order again.

I couldn't have screwed anything huge up could I?

This week has been a lot of work, but I'll tell you one thing, I got problem solving skills like a mother fucking genius magician. I tried what I thought might work....fucking worked. I got low and high beams, bright as a kid destined for MENSA.

The kit was a couple hours work to install, very good end product though. The only real hard part was the work required to mount the ballasts and switch box and running (hiding) the wires.

Dustin, I will try to get pictures tomorrow since the plan is to give it a good wash.

*Edit: Now my turn signals arn't working. What's up with that?

Hey glad you like the lights.

The blue socket is so you can push the wires in to the correct locations for hi/low beam power and the center ground. Then it clips into the factory wiring like a stock connection.

The HID kit will not effect any power to anything other then the headlights.

So I had the same problem when I installed mine too. Just check the connections for the grounds, that's what fixed my turn signals, and the ABS light was on. They were on the same ground.

Hope that helped.:D

Thanks, I ended up fixing it right after making the post. I ended up not using that blue connector and pushed the wires stright into the socket, lol. I used a stock ground connection so hopefully I don't have any problems with that.

Everything has been excellent since then. The lights are super bright and awesome, so much better than stock. I still need to get some pictures.
