Helical LSD Differential
I was about to pick up my detroit locker the other guy and i got a call and the guy sold it out from under me. O well. Next thing i was looking at and really like is the OBX helical lsd differential. I have done some reading and really like what i am seeing. Has anyone used these and what are the pros and cons. Also is the install any diff than a cobra posi trak. Thanks

This is basically the Torsen diff pattern. It's a fully gear driven unit without clutches in the conventional sense. There are torque biasing features and "wind-up" features that are ******* incredible for corner carving. If you're into drag racing then a detroit locker or a conventional clutch type or cone-clutch type diff is probably a better idea (I'd do the detroit locker for a straight line car that does daily driver duty).
Install is identical to any standard diff.
There's a product called the ezlocker available which replaces the spiders, sides and clutches in a standard Ford LSD and converts you to a C-clip detroit locker. Very easy install, don't need to remove the carrier from the housing or even pull the ring or pinion.
Look at the Torsen brand for most mustang applications. Great product. OBX... probably import centric.
