CAI filter
 

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my CAI.

I washed it and put it back on but it keeps on falling off. I cant get it all the way on. It is such a tight fit over the pipe that I can barely get it on. Then once I think I get it on pretty well I tighten it, and if I tighten it too much then it pops off lol. It is kinda frustrating because if it falls off when I am driving then my mileage drops a ton.

Got any tricks to putting it on better? I just cant get the thing on there, it doesnt want to go on. I feel like a moron for posting this but some of you got to know what I mean.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you have K&N oil on the inside where the rubber grips the pipe and thats why its sliding off. Wipe it dry and then install it.

Well that is possible, but additionally I cannot get the filter all the way on. I can stand there and push and twist as hard as possible but it just doesn't go on all the way.

What intake do you have? If it's one where the filter is inside the fender, then that is a bitch. That's how mine is. I have to take off the whole damned wheel to position myself well enough to push the filter on. It's possible, but very difficult.
