Armrest/Console 12V plug thingyjig. 99-04

Okay, so i came out to the car the other day to find my cell phone not charging, i thought its just a fuse, i get to looking and the only one blown was a fuse 1, which was the cig lighter, i replaced it and it didnt fix it, the problem is, thats the only one that was blown. which now my cig lighter works, but i dont smoke so its no help, and my cell phone charger wont work in it. SO that was some money for nothing. What should i check to fix that plug inside the console? I looked at fuse diagrams and i cant find 12v on there anywhere. And its killing me not being able to charge my phone and accesories on the go, which is vital.. Any help is very much appreciated.

Have you tried testing it with a volt meter to see if its actually getting power or not?

Actually no, i havent, i will take a light tester to it when i get home.

Could be the fuse in the cell phone charger itself. Some of those plug in thinga-ma-jiggers can be unscrewed to hold a cylinder type fuse inside. Just something else to check out.

its still good,, my underglow connects there too, and it wont work either.. (its red so no hatin) so i dunno which fuse to look for, i think thats the problem, before i go deeper.

take your test light and check to see if you are getting power, a multimeter will work better if you have one. If you have a meter set it to continuity and touch one end to bare metal, then touch the other end to the outer ring of the socket, you should get continuity at that point. Then set your meter up to read voltage, black lead of meter goes to bare metal (ground) and red lead goes to the very middle part of the socket, meter should read 12volts. or so.. if not you have a blown fuse, check all the fuses, and i mean all of them, sometimes they run two different circuits and dont label them correctly. And dont forget the ones under the hood as well.
