MIL deletes
I have a 2007 GT with a few mods. I have a set of BBK headers with shorty cats and X pipe. It continues to throw the O2 sensor code for one of the banks. I am going to upgrade my system later with a SC, but it will be a while. I will be purchasing a tuner with the SC and I want to save as much $$ as I can for now. I have read that the MIL deletes are no longer manufactured, but the slightly older year's work on the newer cars. I am hoping to find a set of the deletes so I can be rid of the pesky engine light!! Does anyone have a pair for sale or know where to get any. (or have a different solution?):t:

The deletes are used for an o/r x pipe. If you have cats then one of the o2 sensors are bad and just could be replaced and fix the light.

I would pull the O2 sensor and look at it. I know its an '07, but O2 sensor's are finicky. I've seen 'em bad on a brand new car. Consider replacing it before going with MIL's. Also, depending on your mileage, Ford may have to replace it for you, as they are required to warranty all emission's components to like 50K miles.(maybe more on newer cars.) |
If your going to get a tuner in the future for a SC just get a used one now and you can turn the light off and gain a bit of power. Then when its SC time go to the dyno and have them tune that sucker.

Thanks for the guidance. When I look at the O2 sensors, can I clean them off with MAF cleaning solution? The other question is will Ford replace my sensors if I have installed after market exhaust components? There are only about 30K on the car, but I wonder if the additions void the warranty...

I am assuming it is tossing a code for the rear sensors right? if so cleaning them is not gonna fix the problem and as far as I know I have never heard of cleaning them and having them work better.
