a/c vent prob..

ok so im having some trouble with my air conditioner. so it blows out cold and hot with no problem. but when i turn the dial to like max a/c or vents nothing comes out, it is only coming out of the defroster? is there some kind of flap that controls this and it stuck in the defroster position ? not quite sure what it could be

just pull the knob off and turn the rod by hand, you knob could be worn and just slipping off, if not then you may have a bad a/c switch, not too expensive to fix

There are a bunch of vacuum hoses etc... that control the vents, I am gonna take a wild guess and say you have some broken or leaking vacuum hoses.

I found this and I think its for our year cars.

No idea cost wise, just do it yourself. If you look in the diagram you can see that on the bottom left it shows that when there is no vacuum the door closes to regular vents and sends the air to the defrost vents. So if you fix that hose it will have vacuum again and the vents will work as normal. Hardest part will just be finding the hose.
