Rebuild thread
Here is my situation, a few weeks ago I was in a crash with my 1999 gt. It only had 40,000 miles on it and had a lot of mods to it that are not easy to transfer over like cams. I just bought another 1999 gt and i am swapping everything over because the new gt has a ton of miles on it. I will have the new gt repainted so it will look brand new. The wrecked gt is a manual and the new gt is a auto. So I am switching transmissions. I will be switching the computers on each car because my old comp has a tune for the cams on it. My pats system is also turned off on my old computer because I was having all kinds of problems with it. My question is are any of the wiring harnesses different from a 1999 auto to a 1999 stick?
I already have the entire interior ripped out of each car, and dynamatted the new gt. Ill be posting pics of the rebuild sooner or later. |
I would think they would have different harnesses for the trans but idk
best of luck on the rebuild |
under the hood they're no different that I've ever seen. You can actually use a manual in a car tuned for an auto. It just won't shift for you.
So, yeah.. should be a pretty straightforward drag and drop procedure. |
thanks red

that actually makes sense,, if u drop a manual in an auto it shouldnt require a computer change..

Wow! Sounds awesome! But seriously, garbage truck wtf?

so, it is best if you just switch everything from the wrecked car to you donor car. the wire harnesses are the same because they will all be coming from your wrecked GT. |
ya, i decided to just switch everything over. I know a guy who said he would switch over every wire in the car for $100 so ima just let him do his thing.

only harnesses that were different were the transmission harness, car is up and running ready for paint
|
I'm ready to see some pictures!

ill make a picture thread as soon as its painted
