(Edit) I had no idea I'd have to cut

Yep, just got wheel spacers installed, and I had to immediately take them back off. Apparently they say that there made to fit my car, but that doesn't mean they'll work with every wheel. I have to cut like 3/8s off of the stock lugs because with the spacer and stock lugs, there is a gap between the spacer and the wheel. dang

zigzagg321 12-20-2008 12:14 PM

thats why its just better to do it for real and get 17x10.5's and some 315's.

Stan 12-20-2008 12:30 PM

ya i had them on my rear for a little and noticed the lugs were mad short.. I could only get like 3 turns on the lugs so i said screw this if these come loose im gonna get in a wreck so i took them off deff need extenders

01GTBlown 12-20-2008 12:35 PM

I had no problem with my spacers but I have aftermarket lugs...I run 1/2 spacers all the way around :D

Mr. Zip 12-20-2008 12:45 PM

dang. yeah I'd love to get some real wheels and tires, but money's so tight this year. any advice on how to best cut the lugs?

Stephen4036 12-20-2008 02:29 PM

zip do u have black saleens?

r3dn3ck 12-20-2008 02:30 PM

you have to trim your stock lugs to clear the back of the rim genius. Did you read the directions or just bolt them on? Seriously... RTFM

Stephen4036 12-20-2008 02:31 PM

RTFM = Read the fucking manual?!?!!?

SeanStang 12-20-2008 02:54 PM

Man i've never heard anything bad about spacers. I see so many people using them and suggesting them.

Lol thats my guess too, never seen that one before.

Mr. Zip 12-20-2008 04:09 PM

Read the directions? I got them from american muscle, and they didn't come with any literature about this.

Mr. Zip 12-20-2008 04:19 PM

I understand the problem, I just wasn't expecting it. I just want to know the easiest way to cut it. What's the best tool?

Stephen4036 12-20-2008 04:43 PM

u need the UltraLugCutter S5,000!

Mr. Zip 12-20-2008 04:47 PM

Haha nice. I've been trying to find that perfect gift to myself, and there it is!

Deathdiesel 12-20-2008 09:38 PM

So for someone whos ordered them already what do you guys advize? cuz i ordered them yesterdayish and i hadnt heard anything bad bout em

Mr. Zip 12-20-2008 10:44 PM

They work for a lot of people. Just make sure your lugs clear your wheel. If not, you'll have to cut em like I did.

Deathdiesel 12-20-2008 10:51 PM

whatcha mean clear the wheel? im not that hot with tires/rims

mcmmotorsports 12-21-2008 06:15 AM

The reason why you will not see any instructions for these is because different Mustang wheels fit differently on the spacers. I had both 1 1/2 spacers and 1 1/4 at two different times in my Mustang ownership. I had them when I had the stock Pony rims and I had them with the stock Bullitts. The bullitts would not have required me cutting the studs, the Pony's did. All you need to do is cut the ends of each stud off using an air cutoff wheel like this:

Simply cut the UNTHREADED nipple off of each stud and you are golden.

WHEEL SPACERS DO NOT SUCK!

Deathdiesel 12-23-2008 05:15 PM

k thx luckily i got a good air compressor and two of them :)

Mr. Zip 12-24-2008 07:53 AM

Haha that is lucky for you! I have to borrow one from a family friend

r3dn3ck 12-24-2008 08:22 AM

a hack saw is a gawdawfulfuckin slow but another totally possible way to cut em'. Plan to spend about 2 hours of solid cutting if you do that route.

Mr. Zip 12-24-2008 11:27 AM

O.o That would be intense.

95snake 12-25-2008 07:57 PM

im running 10 inch 03 cobra rims on the rear of my 95 cobra and a 315 tire and I think the 275's looked better they stuck out further. the 315's are wider but they are up under the car real far.
