Gatorback belts

I had to replace my altenator about a month ago and i figured i would change the belt since i would have the old one off anyways...so i picked up a gatorback belt...so after installing everything i noticed a whine to it. nothing ever really whined before, the alt. maybe a lil but nothing like this. i don't know how to describe the sound other then it sounds like i have blower on it.

My guess is it's the belt cause it's got lil slits in the ribbing. soo anyone else have a gatorback and noticed a louder then usual whine to it? i'm just hoping its not the altenator..but it does have a niice lifetime warranty on it. anyways, lemme know what ya'll think!

i run a gatorback on my mustang and i just put them on my subaru. the subaru had squeaky belts on before so i didnt know what is quiet for it. the blower whistle is pretty loud so i dont know if the belt makes noise or not.

well i didnt help at all! sorry free post

Sounds like you got a problem with that reman. alternator. Run it a couple of days and if it doesnt go away, take the alt. back for a differentone. Good Luck

yea it's been prolly about a month since i changed it. it's charging fine, just a lil noisey. i'm not sure how autozone's lifetime warranty deal works if it's gotta be broke before ya can exchange it or what...

thanks for ya'lls input!
