#1 Throaty sound

i need opinion from everyone on the combo that will give u the most throaty chug in an exhaust system. i like a good clean chug like an old muscle car, thats what i want it to sound like

I have an 01...so i dunno if they are available for your 05, but thats the exact sound I like, and my Hooker Aerochambers delivery it nicely.

kk, ill check out some hookers on the web(exhaust systems that it), i did see a clip of tha same style generation or yours with those on it, and yes it was music to my ears in the clip. Thats what i want.

O/R X pipe and a Mac CB sounds sweet on the 05+.

I love my axle back magnaflow mufflers. i had SLP LM 1 on my 01. sounded nice but LOUD. when a company markets their stuff as "the loudest mustang exhaust available" they are telling the truth. i have the hearing damage/loss to prove it. (ok so it's not ALL because of the exhaust, but it didnt help things out)

o/r h and magnaflow
or
o/r x and borla

I used a digital camera to shoot this, so the sound isnt represented very well...

to really get the old muscle car sound u will need cams

Moddapalooza 02-10-2008 08:36 AM

I have listend to a lot of vids on the net that have cams installed and yes they definetly have that "glub" that sets it apart. My main question then is Brand? Princing? and whats the path like taking them somewhere to get them installed?

B-rett 02-10-2008 08:51 AM

I have VT Stage 2 cams, installed them myself so I didnt take them anywhere. Most likely you will need a spring upgrade with the cams if you go that rout. VT and Comp both make good cams and springs, or manley springs those are great too.

If you want the sound of muscle, catless h-pipe and glasspacks.

Bassani O/R X or Catted X with Bassani Cat Back sounds great. IMO best i've heard on a mustang. not to toot my own horn. :-).

This is my clip. Also taken with a digital camera, so the sound isn't exactly right. Bassani Catted X with Bassani Cat Back.
