Default cabin heat

i had my mac catted h pipe installed across the street at my usual place while i was at work today. nice sound with the steeda cat back. i noticed that standing next to the car after shutting her down, that alot of heat is coming from around the rear tires, and it seems that the cabin temp is raised a bit too. my legs get kind of hot. is this normal?

run your car for a while and pull over in a parking lot and look under the car, see if you can see the pipes or mufflers glowing red or even blue. Check for leaks and possibly a hole. when using aftermarket pipes, they will allow more heat to disapate from them or opening the system up makes it hotter. Get a heat sheild for your car that you put underneath the car above the piping and mufflers, it will help out with heat in the cabin and noise as well in the cabin.

When I had a 3in exhaust on my SVO it would get really hotas well, heat shield is great as the factory uses this but also insulation for radiant heat will help out. Easiest thing to do is turn on the AC.

My ultimate is a twin turbo V8 which is what Im working with now. Its surprising how powerfull those little 4 bangers are had 20lbs of boost and I would get tried by every car since I had a single exhaust with a super loud blow off valve. Everybody and their mother wanted to race me since it was a sleeper but I would give them a little preveiw and they wanted to pull over and talk about what I had.

I have the SLP Catted X and I've noticed a little more heat under my feet as well. I plan on getting some Dynamat Heat shield material and installing it under the carpet and against the Firewall to help keep the heat out

I've had the heat in cabin problem since I bought mine new! :tongue6: when i pulled my rugs and back seat it seemed like it has very poor insulation from the factory :hmh: I get a lot of heat comin thru the E-brake handle. Ive been running the full MAC exhaust for about 5yrs but it seemed the same as when stock no difference in temp.

Where do you get heat sheild??

I would like to add some to my car. I too get lots of heat, mostly from the e-brake handle though (probably nothing to do about that??)
