Default Weak Start?

Everytime, in the cold weather, my V6 is very weak to start. I have to hold the key in the ignition for quite a bit before it'll start, and sometimes it'll take a multiple tries. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? I have a new alternator and a new battery. Any ideas? Thanks

my money is on the battery, especially if its four or more years old. If its over 5 years old get a new one, its not worth getting stranded in sub-zero temps far from home. Just to be sure you could always get both checked, most chain auto part shops check them for free.

nope, both alternator and battery are new (purchased new alternator in the past 2 months, and battery in the past year).

Could be weight of oil. You want something lighter during winter.
